Darkness Falls: They mostly come out at night...

Love this mod, completely new game especially when combined with sorcery. Quick question though about irrigation pipes, do the ends have to have caps on them or can solid objects {ex: concrete wall) also count towards as having a cap at the end? Also is there any benefit to linking the pipes of multiple pumps?

As such, you are looking at mid january AT LEAST for DF. Because it's christmas for you lot and Yule for me. I will be busy.

And then it's new year. And I will be drunk... visiting friends for the first time in months.

Go to it - Let's put the Saturn back in Saturnalia!

/RL is kicking my butt until about mid-January anyway ;)

Having some issue with my dedi that I'm convinced has something to do with my host manipulating the files without my knowledge, and I'm pretty sure they attempted to update me to a20. I'm currently repairing the files and am assuming the buildid.txt file is important. Does anyone know the buildid of the latest a19.6? I really wanted to finish up my darkness falls a19 journey and put our bases to the test Dx

I actually have no idea.

Caps are not needed. They are there to look nice for folks who want that. But they do count as an irrigation piece. The only benefit of multiple pumps is redundancy in-case something eats one of the water blocks next to a pump.

Today is the official birthday of Darkness Falls. 25th December, 2017 is when I started working on the mod and had functional classes in (if missing localization).

So it seems appropriate to give you all my current development build of Darkness Falls V4 for Alpha 20.  Plus I figured some folks could do with the distraction over the holiday period.

Just be aware, this IS a development build of Darkness Falls. It will have bugs. It will have missing icons or localization. It will likely have loot imbalance. Any future versions could wipe your save. There might be NRE's.

Only download and play if you are OK with this. Happy Holidays.

These files will also work for servers for anyone who wants to run one. No more seperate builds!

RWG "works" but POI's do not obey biome restrictions. It is highly recommended to stick to the test maps.

MANUAL INSTALL ONLY. Just copy the mods folder from DF-V4-Build in the zip to your 7DTD folder and you're done. Also make sure EAC is off, just like previous versions of DF.

Thanks a ton, I've put around 2k hrs into DF since I tried it on A19.3, can't really go back to how easy vanilla is anymore. I had gotten kind of burnt out after 4k hrs of vanilla, @6.3k and going now b'-')b

Fell like a noob for having to ask, I have installed and played DF before (for far too many hours) honest !  But how do I install the A20 dev build ? I unzipped it and it looks like just mods - do I make a new copy of my vanilla A20 game and squirt the A19 DF into it then replace the mods ?

The folder will have a path like F:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\7 Days To Die, put the mods folder into that. If you already have mods by khaine, you might want to put them in a backup folder and remove them from that path, as they could be redundant.

Sorry, I probably should have been more precise. Every DF client I've ever downloaded has had Data and 7DaysToDie_Data folders, not just the mods folder. What I want to know is do I just use the Data and 7DaysToDie_Data folders from the latest A19 client with the A20 dev build Mods folder.

Or to put it another way, do I make a new copy of my vanilla A20 game and squirt the A19 DF into it then replace the mods ?

You have to use A20 to work with this dev build, and you only need to copy the mods folder from the dev build into the 7DtD A20 main folder. You can make a fresh copy of A20 or simply delete the mods folder to revert to vanilla, up to you. Attempting to merge files from A19 vanilla and/or DF will likely break things. Use the test maps for now as well once you get the mod running.

Ooooh, the Mods folder is the ONLY folder I need to do anything with ? I can do that.  Up and running, cheers !

Do you copy the "DF-V4-Build" into the mods folders to the Mods folder under that or the 6 mod folders under that into the folder?
Go into the DF-V4-Build folder, move that mods folder into the main directory of your 7 Days to Die. If you already have mods there, you should probably move or delete them. It must be A20, A19 will likely break. Play the test map(s) once you have it installed.

Yep. DF Is all in the /mods folder now. It's all you need.

Yoiu open the zip, open DF-V4-Build and copy the MODS folder to your 7DTD folder.

Can we take a random gen map that was created with vanilla A20 and use it with this DF-V4-Build ?
Khaine warned against using maps other than the test maps, since the mod isn't finished. Could cause problems. I'm generating a map myself to try it. Edit: I tried to make a random gen map and got DivideByZero crash error. So there's that.
