PC anybody else getting hord attacks in the morning at their base?

This is happened to me last three mornings in a row. Seems odd but it could be just luck like so many things in this game.

Well there is a daily roaming horde spawner in the XML. Different groupings on a 27-day rotating cycle (mostly just zombies, but wolves on day 6, vultures on day 7, and so on).

I have already run into the dogs. I got lucky that time.

It's been random horde spawns hitting in the morning. Usually I see them and they're going somewhere, only every now and then are they going at my base.

There are different types of hordes.

There are hordes that spawn before and after the blood moon.

Also the roaming horde spawns randomly during the day or night, and they hit towards the direction where you are at the moment they've got spawned. That's to prevent the players to stay too much in a single spot

Jep, that's it. But they don't magically know where the player goes like a bloodmoon horde. They won't change their direction for no reason and they are not aggressive.

Results in if the horde spawns while the player is traveling, you left the point where they go a long time ago and you won't even see the horde. If you are in a base (maybe even underground) and don't trigger the spawn, they most likely also only walk by and you don't even notice them. If you are looting a POI they also may walk in the direction of the POI but as they are relatively wide spread, most of them will just walk by. Some of them may start hitting the POI randomly or if they notice your noise. If you go look for where the zombies are, you will just find 2 or 3, thinking that just have been random single spawns, but not 10% of a horde. ;)

In the end, there are only few edge cases where you will even notice such a horde.

You will only notice random hordes when you are in the same place for a period of time. If the random horde spawns while you are travelling you are unlikely to notice that spawn. So if you have been spending a bunch of time in your base at night then it's not a surprise that you are seeing a bunch of random hordes there.

I usually spend most of the night in my base. That's it
