I can't stand loot respawn, I'd rather just kill that. It should never respawn unless the whole POI is reset via quest IMO. We've talked about resetting unvisited  chunks as a server option, so any space without a bed roll or land claim will go back to vanilla chunks after you haven't been there for a while instead of reloading it with loot.
not a bad idea imo, but then id say maybe make the default range of the bedroll a little bigger, just to be safe, but having mines reset would seem odd unless its only poi resets, i dont know anything about coding so i dont know how different it would be lol

You would set the chunk reset time to whatever... 30 days.. as long as you visited the mine every 30 days it would not fill back in. You would also be able to say no reset, ever, then loot and nothing would reset, except for quest pois, which would be how I would play in SP. But for MP having it reset frequently would be good for busy servers. I'd also want maybe an additional thing besides a bed or land claim, that preserved chunks so bridges you made wouldn't get wrecked. Like a light land claim that preserved it without bonus hit points.

Although you don't HAVE to take on a horde with guns. You can craft spikes for miles in every direction, and just sit inside with a repair hammer fixing the cracks. Noone said you need 500 kills by day 7 or you are a loser. The goal is to survive, not be x level or have y possessions before z day.
Over spiking is cheesy, thats why I don't do it, I don't repair during the horde and I made out just fine last time, my base building strat. had nothing to do with how I died. I don't have that many kills by day 7. I had 1250 after 47 days on two hours. Thats low, I was on the verge of changing that. If you say new T0 weapons will level the field then ok. How about leading with that rather then belittling and getting mods and the rest of the community involved in it.

that would work, and for the light land claims it would be interesting, imagine digging a huge mine, not marking it and forgetting where it is just to have it reset haha, but i feel it would get exploited easily as well having chunks reset, unless the loot respawn is set to a different time, that would be hard to do.

I was still waiting on multiple spawn points that we can spawn on, that way we can have a base in every town instead of one spawn point, could function like the light landclaim idea, and have it so you spawn at the closest bed upon death, again dunno how hard that will be.

But i am excited that i can do a full flintlock/pipe weapon user, next all we need is bandage wraps for fists as a t0 weapon and bump up leather wraps lol

I think a Makeshift pistol that uses 9mm would be nice! it could be reloaded like a normal pistol but i think a cool look would be something like the Mauser (i don't know why i like the idea of that)

here are some examples of what i imagen the pipe weapons to look like (these are from metro but again this is just what i imagine they would look like but in TFP style!)

great examples, i played metro and loved how they made the guns, i was thinking that maybe the flint/pipe weapons could do shared ammo, so blunderbuss ammo can be renamed pellet ammo or something, but these ideas work well as well

Yet if you watch the streams like I do, other permadeath players playing the same diff/speed (they just stack blunderbuss) you'd know this isn't true. There is one that doesn't but he still some what cheeses it to survive when his back is against the wall. A cheeky exploit you guys will never bother to fix.
So what’s this so called cheeky cheese exploit that will never be fixed that you are referring too?

That could work too! for early on Players they can make "Makeshift ammo" it is a General term for all the Makeshift weapons and uses Iron, Paper, Rocks and Gunpowder! it reuses the Blunderbuss ammo model! but it is called makeshift ammo!

it goes to all of those makeshift guns but you can uses real ammo so the gun can work better!

They can have both styles! Flint/black powder style! and normal guns!

If you put frames down and then upgrade other frames on top and stand on them the zeds will attack the upgraded frames not doing any damage to the lower and if you use a pole weapon you can hit them but they can't hit you. You can do this outside any poi and pull them in reasonable numbers and bat way above your average.

Edit: I mean its better then using mods to slow the zeds and mess with pathing but it is still cheesy and an exploit

i love it, could make for some interesting limited tier gameplay, its got me stoked, but they would have to make it a slight bit harder to find the t0 weapons or it could be too easy

Ok I’m having a hard time following what you just explained.

Sounds like you just built a crude wall. Where the bottom blocks are frame and the top blocks are upgraded to solid wood.then Stood on it and hit Zed with a spear.

Once the upgrade block breaks, you fall. And why would the frame take damage if the zombie is hitting the full block and not the frame itself.

I don’t see that as a cheesy exploit so I must be missing some context here

can you reexplain this again

if im not mistaken i believe that the problem is lack of realism and also that some types of playstyle are to easy and cheesing the zombies shouldnt be a thing, i have tossed down frames to stop zombies from coming and hitting me giving me an advantage, it is cheesy i admit, but it functions for this style of gameplay

I don't do that, don't throw words in that don't belong and twist things. I'd tell you who to watch to see it for yourself but I'm not calling names like I've seen others do on here. Its a well known cheesy strat. He even knows its cheesy.

Edit: Just confirmed while editing, no dog house at the gas station poi to suggest that there is a dog there. Not blind I guess.

Ok cool mate

you still haven’t really explain to me what it is your talking about.

Not showing where to find it so I can see it being done doesn't help either.

So at this point can’t say if it’s real cheese or not. Chances are it might be a valid surival strategy that you happen to dislike so you call cheese exploit. Don’t know haven’t seen what the heck your talking about

Watch twitch and watch the top permadeath players, that's all I will say.

I didn't belittle anyone. The fact is you are playing with self imposed freakshow rules and then expect us to react to it. Dogs are not OP so we aren't going to react. You are the one coming here and bragging about your skills so I think anyone coming down on you is your own doing, nothing I said. I think it is cool you choose to play hardcore with self imposed gimps, but you can't expect us to change the game because it doesn't fit your role play.

That seems weird, you would think they would go for the weakest block, the frame on the bottom. We have ranged and AOE zombies coming that will shake this up I think.

there are not that many, by getting me to name them your asking me to name the guy, don't want to do him any harm hell I'm subbed to him cause he makes excellent plays when he doesn't rely on cheese. You'll know them, they are always on the top of the 7 days to die Twitch board. Who would have thought permadeath getting most views, wonder why.

That doesn't really matter to me. Dogs are not OP in the first place and can be outrun. Nobody said you have to fight every entity to the death.

It might be more fun to watch because one wrong move and its over. I doubt many people play that way though,  only a small percentage of the hardcore players IMO. I know there are lots of people who do it, but lots is still a tiny % of the millions who play. I've said many times we want to officially support dead is dead at some point, because there is value in it. Hell even mc has it.

@madmole How it is with mining? I know that you can find veins easily when finding a ore at the surface. But what If I want a mine in my own base? Do I have to mine to bedrock how it used to be? Or can ore now be found only at the top layers?
