Fun Pimps PLEASE add back the fov slider. I literally feel sick when having to use the garbage fov you have it set to. Yes i know you can use commands, thats not the point. Who ever thought that was a good idea....

I did a longish vid showing the 3D representation of the glancing system on each weapon and also when they hit. I didnt go too much into detail. It could be a great discussion for debate.

I don't know if this was mentioned but it seems like the hit box for zombies heads are harder to hit, i mean with melee, i smack them with all sorts of weapons but it seems to do glancing blows more than normal hits, am i simply not seeing it right?

Invisible animals still a thing after what?? 2 years now?? Was added right after I was told, "We do not fix game features with hacks/mods."

Lets delve a bit further into animals and food

I was playing with 3 other people and at least 2 of us had to eat glass so there would be enough food for the other 2.

Also sometimes they would eat and get food poisoning and have to eat glass anyway.

This was an every other day thing.

Half a town looted (12-15 poi's) and hunting entire day 3+km searched (50 raw meat max) produced jack ♥♥♥♥ for food only enough for 2 people.

Lets move on to what I brought up on many previous occasions

Lootable container vs non-lootable containers

Still set heavily in favor of non-lootable 66%

so only 33% of all possible containers that spawn in the world are lootable.

Out of those containers how many can contain food? 50%<generous on my part

which means that only 16% can possibly have food and how many of those containers when opened have 0% loot in them? 25%

and of the now 12% possible food found containers how many do actually have food and not something other than food? 25%

so now we are left with 3% possibility to find food and how much food is in these? 1-2 cans

out of those cans what are they mainly? dog and cat food 50% - can of sham 25% - other 25%

Okay lets talk the either learn it by buying skills or finding schematics?

So I learn skills but then find the schematic....I just wasted skill points.

I know there is a forget elixer you can buy from vendor but it costs 40,000 coins

Really? REALLY!?!

Lets give it away for free from traders.... and be an always have..... so it doesn't suck when we find the schematics.

You could make it so we spawn naked in the world again but have all our skills to re-spend.

Hordes still only last like 1-2 hours

I know you are trying to make it gradually harder

but lets have it last the entire night already.

You prepare for the horde and they disappoint in the beginning stages.

Keep the stages just make them last longer.

Nights are still very boring especially in beginning few weeks of playing you either mine, craft, or sit around.

Yeah some stay out and fight through it, but if you are not looting poi's the zombies a few and far between.

(more so now then previous alphas---zombies? where?)

Map generation

Whats with all the water on the outer edges?

every map water sometimes water 1km before outer edge.

As far as I can see water.

when did Arizona become an island?

is there still radiation out there? IDK? never tested it. don't care to test it.

whats the point if there is or isn't its just water.

Poi's are few a and far between especially in temperate zones.

shouldn't there be more in these zones as it was not bombed to hell and gone?

level gating- operating machines gating(<forge tables stations vehicles etc.)

Im do not feel the need to elaborate this. you all know what you did.

Not to mention the bullet sponge zombies.

and the horrible coding that tells a zombie not facing you when shot with bolt/arrow etc. Right where you are and it turns and come right for you.

its called make target when hurt in the Xml....fine for animals etc.

but player should be removed and instead a look command should be added.

Lets not forget the horrible predictable fall down get back up then take a bit more damage and finally die mechanic.

there is no randomness in this equation.

I shot a zombie 7 times in the same leg no dismemberment it fell got back up and died before that happened.

so dismemberment has randomness but the fall down get back up does not?

so you want us all to play the game the way you want just like you want us to go through the poi's?

why not get rid or open world and just make a linear game like doom or whatever.

I don't know what you all did this time and I don't know why you did it all.

This is not a question it is rhetorical as I don't care.

Just hurry up and release 18 so I can fix everything long before your entire team does as always.

That sounds like a personal problem. Glass is NOT food, okay? It's clear, kinda looks like sugar when crushed up and maybe a bit shiny, but tis not edible! Lol but really, you know the trader you get brough to on day 1? Canned good / cooked food / buried supplies quests. Vitamins = no food poisoning but rly there's always plenty of food.

Red tea = 1 point in master chef (non level gated) and some punched flowers you can find anywhere there's green ground -- it reduces hunger degeneration significantly.

If you got invisible animals something is really broken, I've never seen (heh) invisible animals. Plenty of game to kill in all builds.

He's talking about an internal XML feature that you never see ingame, just like "= Tree Small = Random Helper" exists in the game but is never seen by a player. I did not read the rest because the first and apparently most important issue was completely irrelevant. /shrug

*giggle* Ahh gotcha. Ohhh I bet he saw that in the DM spawn menu or something. It doesn't actually mean invisible animal xD

Only thing I could make out from your post is that you and your crew would be some of the first to die in a real zombie apocalypse due to your desire to eat glass and give up lol....

 
Played now long enough to state that looting combined with the trader's stock is OP concerning crafting tools/weapons/armor. Other then an occasional stone tool I NEVER came close to having to craft a weapon, armor or higher tier tool.

Hi.

-Firstly, I don't know why but 80-90% of every thing is repairable just with repair kit, even clothes and armors, please fix it, it feels weird.

-Secondly, I want those sliding jail dors back.

-Thirdly I wanna suggest some wall hanging closet for tools / weapons, that would be so cool.

I don't know about you I have 1 tool box I use at home to fix everything.

I play with 2 friends with default setting and I invested some points into farming and a bit hunting.

Yes we had to eat some junk in the first days, but in few time we had lot of bacon and eggs and after day 25 we have now the food storage filled with steaks with potatoes, cakes, soups and super corn.

You need to be good at the game if you want to thrive.

I play since alpha11 and alpha18 is the best game version for sure.

I'd love a skyrim like armor stand.... maybe just update it to be a modern manikin based on the existing player uma figures? Use the same code used for players to display thier worn items.

I think I see the problem here.

1. you are not sharing glass with that 1 friend.

2. Eat more glass and shred that stomach. Without a stomach you will not be hungry. If you're not hungry no need to hunt. If you don't need to hunt.....problem solved? ;) Just joking :)

On the real though. Maybe invest in that perk that allows you to get more meat when harvesting.

Loot the farming POIs. Grow some crops. Invest in that perk that uses less stamina with actions. I can go on for days....... bottom line. Get better and learn more ways of better handling hunger and food. Sounds like the 3 of you are noobs. There is more ways of getting food than just hunting animals.

P.S. Plenty of animals to hunt btw, I have zero issues and more than enough for to last me and 4 others.

as for the rest of what you said in your post... Honestly I stopped reading once I seen that it was just a rant instead of actual well thought out feedback for TFP. Making up percentages is not ideal when providing feedback.

This is it in a nut shell. If your not good at dealing with the mechanics and learn what works in the game yes your going to starve and die.

 
melee and hitbox: I finally figure out why melee felt off now.

straight up stab through the Zed into the wall behind him. what even is hitbox :biggrin-new: ? This is why people miss with the spear throw.

feel like that section should be in bug report.

Glancing blow: IMO, get rid of glancing damage but keep the collision trajectory from it, so the full swing arc dealt full damage if the swing came in contact with the zed, you don't have to have the crosshair on the zed.

animation: the spear are good reach gameplay wise, but the animation make it feel like you're stabbing with a knife. maybe extend the animation reach a bit more

same with the fireaxe, it have a very good reach, but the animation feel slightly short.

weapon:

-spear, IMO the spear could use some penetration with it default attack. like penetrate 2-3 zombies max with perk.

-knife, I'm not even looking at the zombie and I can dealt damage to zombies at my 10:00~2:00 range with default attack

-machete, all good here

-clubs/bat, animation need some work. default attack just suddenly stop mid way feel very weird. Maybe make all attack have the heavy attack animation, but upon hit, stop midway like default attack. Make heavy attack have a little windup before attack to differentiate the two attack.

bat need more beefier sound.

-knuckles, all good here

-sledge hammer, see glancing blow.

-m60, QOL, allow reflex sight mod

-compound crossbow, QOL, repeater mod, allow to reload a clip of 5 bolt.

-fireaxe, all good.

looting: very early game should probably drop more of tier 3 weapons/tool parts or schematic, not straight up the actual item, tier 2 should be fine right now. early~mid game there should be more tier 3 weapons/tool item, but it should be generally lower quality than tier 2 drops.

E.g

early game : primative bow Q 5-6, iron pick axe, quality 1~2. steel tool part

early mid game: wooden bow Q 3-4, iron pick axe Q 3-4. Steel pick axe Q1-2

mid game: current build, with a little less Q1~3

but sound like TFP team still wanna wait to see if the current looting is balance.

farming: the resource requirement felt a bit steep, I know MM don't want everyone to have a giant farmland at day 1, but maybe the cost could be lower a bit.

Mining: feel like there a tad too much lead node and not enough nitrate.

fps: I've already put my AF to x2 and get a stable 60fps most of the time (still down from 80fps since A17.4), but the desert mountain still eat 20fps when ever I'm looking at one

perks:

huntman and animal tracker, felt like it either should be combine or at least under the same tree.

furry of blows, feel like this should be build into the other weapon perk, so you're more specialize when perking into those weapon skill.

There should be more zombies out in the

Woods and in fields more than buildings. While looting a buildings zombies should really be quite but roaming that whole poi. And have it so in at least every town theres a large horde of zombies stranding around. Its getting a little boring most of the killing is around horde night and looting poi's

Try the console command "showswings".

Maybe it works the way you say when playing on a server?
