So you're going to ignore my question , in fact half the forum posts that hate the balance of this patch and act high and mighty?
I should have known better. The developers of this game give no 2 cents about what the community thinks unless it favors their decisions.
You do know he isn't obligated to respond to you right? Especially when your question was pretty snarky to begin with.

Funny, they just added that exact "feature" of constantly needing to compare weapon stats to 7dtd. Thanks for making my point even more obvious. My opinion stands, they are moving towards looter/shooter.
Hey, you're the one who likes to be in your inventory a lot. Apparently you want more of that in this game.

"Mining is a focused expedition". Maybe in your playstyle it is. Do you think we all play the same? Personally with the iron nodes being everywhere I chop them off the surface as I am out doing other things and rarely even have any need to dig down for more. I do have a mine location marked out close to base for when I start going deep but I am not going to run past those easy to grab chunks without grabbing em.
Well, there's your dilemma! Do you stop and pound this iron node, mark it on your map, or just hope to stumble upon it again later? TFP hasn't taken away your dilemmas. You should be very happy.

The only time I scrapped iron ore would be the first day to make an iron reinforced club from resource boulders iron ore. As for a number? Is that the number of times I've scrapped ore or how much ore I've ever scrapped? hmm.....................2 digits I would guess for times I've scrapped ore. Amount? No clue. That's with me currently sitting at 1968 hours played. After that I always had both iron ore and scrap iron as standard everyday slots in inventory as I would both be wrenching/breaking stuff during the day for scrap and also smacking the odd boulder for ore. A18 the ore portion is the nodes and not a daily thing, just when I run across them and still get a ton of scrap from all other sources.
Wait, so you never had much of a dilemma over this? With the way you take every side of the argument, I'm starting to think that you just like to complain.

I fixed that today. It turns out vehicles were getting bleeds and infections from zombie hits. At max infection the vehicle is set to 0 health, so repairs would be zeroed out.
Glad that was resolved! I really hate having to cheat in a replacement for a bug, but its still experimental, so I'm not too concerned. Its a big deal though for people who on't know how or just can't for some reason.

Now say that without crying.
I am not crying. I am however very sad . Despite providing some extensive analysis and constructive criticism on balance issues the developers (namely Gazz) decided to respond to them with vulgarity and hostility. Either the community is wrong or the devs are right. There is no middle ground.

And as the game slowly descends into the stupendous oblivion that is post modern watered down fallout 76 esque to appease to the average Joe, I hope the devs realise this mistake and try to undo the changes on realism, building and crafting. There is still time to fix this before the game stops being what it used to be: more of a survival zombie base building crafting game and less of a shooting looter simulator.

I think the game is doing just fine with the direction.

So it's all a matter of personal opinion to begin with. And try not to take people's responses too serious, visual text is hard to interpret, so you are more likely to take things the wrong way.

But to answer your questions, most of what you are asking has already been covered in past posts and I would gather it can probably get pretty frustrating repeating your self for every forum user over the course of the games development cycle. Try to think of other people's perspectives.

Have you thought about Gardening (Green Thumb) books? Maybe something like:

1. Randomly get extra crops from a harvest

2. Efficient use of fertilizer – crops grow faster

3. Chance to get seeds from harvested crops

4. Unlock Corn Mash – super corn + grain alcohol = Strength rage?

5. Harvest all connected farm plots at once

6. Lawn Mower – clear 10 x 10 area of grass/plants in one hit

7. Plant all connected farm plots at once

Bonus - Bonus for all 7 = get 3 or 4 crops from each plot

I would imagine this to be the case for almost everyone. And that is the reason why scrapping iron ore or not was never a hard decision nor an important decision.

And that is the reason why people getting upset about this change waste their breath on the wrong incident. This is crying wolf. When a really serious simplification comes along and we really should protest, it will be seen by TFP as just another false alarm. Because it seems there is always someone who protests when a change comes along, like a knee-jerk reaction even before thinking it through.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not for this change. I'm also not really against it. it is a relatively minor change. The only good argument to leave it in is immersion and realism. Ah, found another small reason: It was another hint for newbies that they need a forge to smelt stuff in it

Oh yes, there is a middle ground once you realize that you don't speak for the community. Gazz only ever responds with making fun of everyone and everything, if you misinterpret this as hostility you are taking the game much too serious.

Guppy is right , since A11 this game has got lets not dare use the word dumber but how does "less involved" sit ?

It would take a 500+word wall of text to explain it and no one would bother to read it.

TL;DR version.

PC is capable of complex software... a console is not.

there are a lot of disgruntled console players who got a half arsed game that is buggy and doesnt work.

how do you think TFP are going to shoehorn this game back into a console?

the game looks better than it ever did, FPS is at an all time low. its still fun to play but it could have been even better. well thats just an old mans opinion, i grew up with games you had to manage 4 or more characters and very small inventories. some games didnt even have graphics..

its all a symptom of the modern era..

roll on gold and roll on the mods..

Oh man, this made me want the plains biome back. I remember these fields and a mountain and a POI in the distance.
Not exactly Grandmas Zombie Apocalypse biome. The thousands of mines in the biome should work for all kinds of fun things. You missed the rabbit flying through the air after it stepped on one I gather?

Cant wait! :D

that was the "Wabbit Detector" at work. :)

Why is it so black and white? I'm a firm believer in a middle ground. If your not open to that, your just asking to be disappointed.

Chill dude, we're all just giving feedback and suggestions. TFP made the game ofc it's upto them how it turns out. Dev diary is full of suggestions you can't expect them to follow everyone's tastes. Give feedback move on or make your own mods. Demanding this n that after paying what $10?! It's already refreshing how often they respond in the forums and they do take in constructive feedback.

The Fun Pimps, Madmole, reading positive reviews on steam most players already want the translation into Spanish, being realistic the game does not even have 10% translated into the second most spoken language in the world, and we can not enjoy the game 100 % just for that reason please translate it and that all of us who bet on this game can enjoy it like all other buyers, A18 is brutal and we want it in Spanish to enjoy it with greater pleasure.

Keep up the great work guys.

when you feel that the dev is hostile, it more of they are annoyed of repeating themselves, arguing with the same 5 people for 10 pages and someone who didn't read (or couldn't catch up) those interaction bring up those point again and potentially respark the arguments. Pre A18 experimental release, I think I got secondhand aneurysm from reading them.

And dev do listen to players (although they will resist it at first, even MM admit this) if there a lot of them complain about one aspect. And not ALL players are on the forum. So the same 5 people complain about 1 things, doesn't mean ALL players hate it. Back in A17, once you found some crop seeds, you never need to leave the base again, you can craft everything you need. There a few perks that are essential must have, once you got those, the rest are optional. Every POI is like clown car, it not difficult to clear, but it tedious. Horde night AI are stupidily "smart" (it still is). Gameplay last like 2 weeks before I'm bored and quit til now. A lot of players complains, but the other half of forum players dismiss them (looking at you Roland).

Then we got A18. Boom, majority of issues are addressed.

On the other hand, whiles A18 is great, but there are some aspect I do wish TFP work on, which I know some of it are. Like random encounter to make it feel like there are more zombies (idk how they gonna do this). Frame rate issues. Water. Melee glancing when it should have been a hit. PhD blood moon zombies (which Tfp are happy with and not planning on changing). The weird balance between crafting and looting (the loot and shoot issues stem from over balanced due to A17 sit in base and craft everything).

-lucky looter is the god perk of A18 . It somehow makes the player to magically find three times more exotic loot than before instead of reducing search times
It is called LUCKY looter and not SPEEDY looter after all. It doesn't have to be magic. You can think of it as someone with that skill set can salvage what is there better than someone without that skill. They have the good eye that can spot the diamond in the rough.

-farming requiring rotten ,infected meat to make plant pots. How watering plants ,hoeing the land and having a simple irrigation system is less realistic than finding dozens if not hundreds of cans in abundance in a zombie world infected by zombies and ravaged by scavengers for decades?
Farming has simply been abstracted. It has been stated that farming is not a focus or a major feature of the game so it has a minimal design and attention is prioritized elsewhere. I can understand the disappointment of video game farming enthusiasts that the part of the game that excites them has been marginalized but TFP has the right to focus on the parts they deem to be the most important.

The game is also not a sim. It has a tongue in cheek sense of humor. Would we actually farm using rotten flesh? No. Would anyone actually name their day care Poopy Pants or their gas station Pass-n-Gas? Sham is made out of paint and rotten flesh and gives 0% chance of infection. It's a joke. If you want a serious gritty sim of post apocalyptic life you will have to mod that in because it isn't the goal of the developers.

-Why we actually need 5 crops to make a seed instead of 1? How we can magically gather multiple times more crops from leveling up instead of crafting more fertile land to get those extra crops? Rotten meat <<< fiber ,soil and water << soil, fertilizer, fiber, paper and water
Because that is how unviable the seeds are. What is being abstracted is that you planted all of the seeds from five pieces of fruit and only one seedling survived. The perk shows you growing and progressing as a botanist allowing you to get more yield from plants you have cultivated. Showing all of that is beyond the scope of the game so it is abstracted to 5 fruit yield one viable seed and as you get better at what you do you get more yield from your plants. Of course, this means that you can also do more with smaller gardens which also helps performance.

As for the rest I already explained the nature of the game. It isn't a sim.

-How it's realistic to not being able to craft mechanical parts and springs which are the basis of a lot of electrical components?-Why we need to loot steel parts when we can craft iron tools and weapons just fine?
Everything tier 3 in the game has a component that can only be looted and not crafted. Looting and exploring is viewed by the devs as the primary way to get what you need. Crafting is still necessary for many things but for some things it is simply a fallback if you can't find what you want. That is the reality of the direction of the game. With the huge popularity this decision has created I don't see them wanting to change that.

-Why you keep removing the fun of building ,crafting and farming from the game and keep focusing on stupid ♥♥♥♥ing looting? -Why you can be both the crafter and the good yielder of the weapon? Why a blacksmith is supposed to be almost equal to a warrior? Why did you combine crafting an item and efficiently using an item in the same bloody perk?

-Why we can harvest human corpses in POI's but can't harvest zombie corpses?

-Why we can eat literal infected zombie meat but we're not becoming infected in the process?

In short, why you keep reducing realism in the game, breaking immersion, making the game a forced looting simulator and completely disregarding the building elements of the game?
So in general, my answers are the same. Looting and exploring is proving to be fun for the greatest number of players the game has ever had. Crafting is still a staple of the game but not the necessary integral way to survive that it once was. You can still craft if you need to-- if looting and trading fail you. For the rest, let go of the idea that this game was ever meant to be a sim. TFP has a sense of humor and they design it into the game. It's funny that we can eat zombie meat.
