Through the process of elimination I have a strong feeling (I'll bet 10 bucks) the drop in FPS in the snow biome is related to whatever you call the effect that gives snow that shiny and reflective surface regardless of graphic settings. no way to turn this off and it doesnt show up in forest biome.

Well, spam crafting is out because crafting a blue is quite expensive. People will craft blues in the hope to get some above average stats, but the purple item will still be special because of that additional mod slot the blue simply can't have.Heh, nice.
Thats why I don't want crafted items to have randomized stats. So you cant spam craft your way to a superior item. You want an exceptional item, go out and loot it. But if you don't find that exceptional purple tier item you're looking for, you can at least (eventually) craft a non exceptional version.
sorry I must have missed where you said that.I've already said what it is at least twice today. Too many AF samples in the terrain shader by default and grazing angles are slow.
cant be reflections that govern it. I turned off reflections... no way to stop those effects at all that i know of. I tried turning everyting off or low. never changes those effects which is why I suspected that.you owe me $10 because i have settings and reflection high and the snow biome is high fps at 2560 x 1440 with no issues.my lowest spot with current exp build is the desert biome.

They won't help...have you see the steam that comes out of his ears when he reads some of the posts on here. It's like he is in a cartoon. They would have to be carved out of blocks of ice.Been telling you, the hp omen mindframes are cooled...

...take the hellcat for a quick drive over, and try them out.
I have a theory about mountains causing more overdraw (than normal) due to all the vertical layers. I need to look into it.Ya know, I made a 4k map with Nirtogen's map generator with no mountains / smooth terrain and I really realized that the jagged / huge mountains were the bane of my fps. I know I'm on a low-end computer, but perhaps that's something to look at for performance gains for everyone else. With no huge/jagged mountains, my FPS rarely dips below 40 at the lowest -- I was even running distant terrain on and on a higher resolution. Note that smooth mountains actually weren't that taxing, but the jagged / bumpy ones were.
I thought I mentioned it before, but it appears to be harmless. It seems to be a Unity issue that does not happen on newer versions, but we don't want to update Unity yet, because then we need to do a lot of testing and there are often new bugs.Faatal, did you get chance to see why default shaders are not loading? I have 3 computer with nvidia, 1050, 1060 and 1650 all have same warning of default shader not loading and switching. All are running win10 pro latest version and driver upgraded. processor and ram are different with minimum 12 GB RAM in them.
good luck sir, make our fps great again!I have a theory about mountains causing more overdraw (than normal) due to all the vertical layers. I need to look into it.
What is wrong with that, lootable items/weapons/armour/♥♥♥♥ have their own durability and random specs. Including the chance to find them via perks, books or mods, its pretty good thing to have. Find a good one, keep it durable, scrap or get rid of those you don`t need.Hey madmole the current plan is to adjust loot probabilities to make it less likely to find higher quality stuff early game right?
Ooof!Your poor scheduling doesn't constitute an emergency for us. Sorry for the 37 second wait.
