Actually, padded armor doesn't have any drain. I use that and the pockets I have found and really help as they have quality so can handle more mods.
Beat me to the punch. Cloth armor is a must craft asap IMO.

There is a book that unlocks +2 clothing pockets, so you would be at 6. Cloth armor has zero movement or stamina penalties so you can load up armor pockets into that and have 0 encumbrance with full inventory.
EDIT: You can put in the mods that remove movement penalties from light armor as well, and get rid of a ton of the penalty, and offset with a special jacket that boost run speed to negate the penalty.
Ah, didn't know about the +2 pocket book, that does help a bit. Forgot about cloth armor. Is there a skill that allows for crafting higher quality cloth armor (for more mods) or is quality 1 it?

I'm just thinking out loud anyway and you pointed out the things I'd overlooked. Thanks!

Next time the kids want to start a new game I'm going Strength/Fortitude and going to see how many teeth I can knock out while eating any old thing I find lying around in unrefrigerated places, lol. This mostly-Int character I have now is serious work.

Not sure if its been addressed or not but I was wondering if smell was coming back at some point? I loved the risk/reward with that.

I'll be honest, this sounds to me a LOT like the old Wi Flag from Asheron's Call. There was this one guy named Wi, that no matter who was around or what he did or did not do, mobs would aggro on him and ignore everyone else. If you attacked a mob and Wi was nearby, it would ignore you and attack him.
Took Turbine literally years to find the thing, but I'd bet there's something funky going on where something about his account is causing Screamer spawns. When someone insists this hard that they're not doing anything and they're getting constant screamers, something's off.
He probably has a mine under his fort or left out some important details like 50 torches surrounding his base. Tree falling is huge on the heat map, maybe he is gathering his tree farm.

have you even seen a boar?
those bastards are violent and dont give AF

------------------------------------------------------------

plus l like that the wildlife is very dangerous. i think that the danger would go

People , zombies and wildlife
We're not nerfing boars they are how they are IRL.

I found that same yellow trailer and in the kitchen were military and hazmat zombies. It's the POI. That's not particularly awful really...odd and out of place for that POI but not that hard to dispatch. My 2 quality stun baton did the trick and I'm not that good at melee. The furniture helped a little.
I thought he said they were feral, I don't think they were feral. I see military zeds all the time, depends on the POI you go to. He probably shot one and it went into rage, mistaking it for a feral.

People need to remember who the alpha is early game, its not YOU. RUN DUDE RUN. No shame in a strategic retreat.

Cloth armor is governed by light armor, so spec into that to craft better versions of it, or shop the trader, I see purple cloth all the time.

<snip>The only things that attract her are running workstations and torches. Pounding doesn't even do anything nor does trees falling any more like I thought they did.
huh I did not know this changed, nothing in patch notes talking about it. Well this is good to know.

Sound, smell, and MOVING lights all contribute to the heat map. A zombie sees a flickering campfire and it draws his eye, but a stable electric light doesn't.
In a18 mining (and possibly tree-cutting, not sure, that involves more movement) seem to draw more attention than previously, and the campfires/forges less than previously. Either that or I'm roaming just far enough from the forge/campfire area that they're not loaded...hard to tell. I've been harvesting at night a city block or so away from them. How far does stuff remain loaded in a18?

I think he said wight and military. I've seen wights with military and hazmat before so I am guessing the game classes them similarly. I got military and hazmat, he and his wife got military and wight. /shrug

So, ferals on day 4 at gamestage 6 is a real thing. Intended?
I've seen the occasional feral at day 2 so yeah it's a thing. Random thing, unusual thing, but a thing nonetheless.

I've already posted how players can check out exactly how heat works. Why do so many keep commenting on heat, take 10 minutes and go learn exactly how heat works then come and make comments. I'm jumping on 7d2d now to test out heat and then i'll open a thread explaining in detail with pictures showing how it all works. This heat discussion is honestly annoying af but it is motivating me to write up this guide so I guess I cannot hate lol. :)

I never do a pure build, I dabble in other attributes a bit. Hell I have a strength build now but I still only bought 1 rank of pack mule and used pockets to take care of the rest, so I could use those perks on blacksmith, one rank of scavenging and 1 rank of barter and 1 rank of lucky looter.

In a POI or in the wild? Ferals of weak zeds have a low chance to spawn in the wild at night.

EDIT: The wastland spawns nasty ferals at night.

I do all I can in lucky looter before I bother with any other skills tbh. Seeing as how loot is such a big part of the game now. Also since yoou have to invest heavily in a tree to get Q5 stuff its easier to just loot all of it instead.

@Madmole post about finding workstation specific schematic in broken workstations (and forgot to check the quote text option)

Love that idea! Or even the ability to repair a world gen workstation to get it working (though not be pick-up-able).

I'm tempted to say what I think here, but its useless and I'm fed up with promises and shortcomings on deliverys.. So I'll just say goodbye and thanks for my time with the game. All good things must come to an end. It has surely been a pleasure.

@madmole Is the blunderbuss affected by the Boomstick perk under the Strength tree, or is the blunderbuss its own thing? Just wondering. (:
Yes its governed by boomstick, but its one of those things you don't bother with now if you go looting. I've been thinking about what to do with it.
