As for using electricity. I never use electricity. I rarely create a base. I play almost entirely nomad style in pvp or solo. I enjoy the survival and exploration. So lots of things people are complaining about have no effect on me. Could care less about electricity or farming. I always block entrance into a poi I am looting and clearing and make a second exit in case door I came in becomes swamped. Always have a plan b. I look forward to the new challenge of 18. Stick to your guns MM. Lots of us long time players are here for the entire ride. I bought this game for $10, 2700+ hours later I think I got my money's worth. I also bought this for 5 other people and got another 15 or so to play as well.
How many MF's left?

Chris
Lets see, there is Zombie Jam, Poptard, Snowdog.. just kidding...there is 10.

Sounds like another way to do solar panels, so probably not. I'd rip those out too, get off yer ass and get gas IMHO. Battery banks are clunk as well.
Aw, but windmills make a ton of sense, especially post-apocalypse, probably one of the easiest contraptions to put together and get some use out of. Solar was near useless in A17 anyway because we could NEVER find a damn solar bank to put them in to actually use them. Anyway, make it harder to build, more late game, whatever, but it makes more sense to make it a challenge than to remove what is such an obvious and useful thing to make in a game world like this. Starting with a gas gen is fine, but the upgrading later to save gas for vehicles should be a do-able thing, especially now that gas is so scarce.

! - btw I did something else for a few days and am amidst catching up on the forums, forgive me if this horse has been beaten to death already

About the only concession I'd make is they know how you got in and take a bread crumb approach. So if you don't have 50 air locks, and are willing to upkeep them, RIP.
As a player who doesn't believe in building cheesy bunker bases, I'd really like to see a breadcrumb system for funneling zeds to an entry point (sans 50 airlocks) that could be made defensible. That makes for a more compelling reason to put in the work to build a bunker as opposed to the current state of the game, where regardless of what you do with your bunker's entry points, your roof and the ground over it may get totally wrecked.

EDIT: These are just thoughts, not demands.

Gas isn't scarce once you have access to crafting it, mine shale and have all the gas you want. You can get by for a couple days harvesting cars, then you need to harvest again. I do it on the way to a POI or sometimes at night I exclusively harvest in the wasteland, scary AF though. Remember to crouch.

Yeah i'm not sure how hard that would be. I think the AI would like to surprise you and do a combination.

It's electricity 101, find a motor, any motor, and turn it backwards= generate electricity, then send to battery bank. Done. Sure you may(ok, will) need some electrical management in there somewhere, but again such components should be abundant in a post-apocalyptic setting based on the modern world. Building robots? Harder but still do-able, but I don't push tooo hard for that, even though I'd love to see it. Asking for basic electricity generating techniques is however very trivial by comparison.

I just want late-game electricity to be worthwhile once achieved, if we are stuck with gas generators forever then saying it's lame is being generous. Please at least make solar banks acquirable or better yet introduce windmills or some other form of, likely similar, electricity generation. Heck you could even install a workout bike and let players convert player/food energy into electrical energy in a pinch. I just think such things would need to be balanced right, not omitted altogether. FFS we can turn coal, gas, nuclear explosions, wind, tide, and even falling ♥♥♥♥ing water into electricity. Relying on gas, in a world that no longer extracts it, is a dead end regardless(yeah yeah, we can mine oil shale, which is silly, refining usable gas is leagues more complex than that. But ok, and I will do this as the game intended, fine). Anyway, that's my 2 cents. Carry on.

Has there been any server optimisations for horde night? AVG server FPS is usually around 35, but can drop to 5 on a horde night. Also, will the maps still be loaded into RAM?

you know those generators that people uses during like hurricanes?

maybe they could be in there rare loot or expensive

but they produce 2xs the power

uses engines

but also takes 2xs the gas?

idk

I am curious about one key area regarding electricity. The value of engines went from 1-600 to naught; engines are now just engines. I'm wondering why the same step wasn't applied to batteries. Instead of batteries going from 1-600 to being just batteries - all of the same - they instead were organized into the new standard 1-6 value system. I am simply, humbly curious... was there a reasoning behind this?

Ok. I mean I get it, and will do this, I just do not think it makes much sense to restrict energy generation to gas alone, in fact it is incredibly ridiculous because there are so so many ways to convert almost anything into electricity using a common post-apocalyptic ingredient: electric motors. They'll be everywhere, and every single one is also a generator. So...

Anyway, I hear you, and will play that way for now(cries on the inside). So, have you already removed solar panels and solar banks? Might as well at this point, as much as I don't think you should. Forcing us to rely solely on gas is ugh... I'm gonna tell Greta!
