It might be a post gold patch. If it allowed for 200 zombies on screen and the same FPS and memory???? I think a lot of people would opt in to give up mining for that. There would still be mining, just not digg anywhere kinda mining.
I haven't read the forum much lately but this sounds like dumping voxels?

Adesanyas most notable wins are an over the hill Anderson Silva and maybe Fatstalum I think? I honestly dont know him very well but has a lot to prove for me to pick him over Whitaker. Whitaker is pretty badass.
Im picking Whitaker but Adesanyas has a chance to rise to the occasion.
I’m with you on Adesanyas, if he can beat Whitaker then I’ll say he’s interesting. Whitaker is the man and that fight will not go the distance. I do not see a tall, skinny guy beating him. Gastallum, never been a huge fan. Other than that nasty haymaker he has, the rest of his game is average.

Sounds great, but I presume you are exaggerating. I doubt removing destroyable terrain only, keeping all the destroyable pois would allow you to have 500 on screen. Jeez even AAA games don't have that many on screen. In a multiplayer game also? Lol ;)
Are you kidding, there are 1000's of dinos alive on the server in ARK, all fighting and killing each other, animating, playing sounds, etc. Rust supports 500 players. AAA games are made for console potatoes but even so look at dead rising mall, there are hundreds of zeds in that 2006 ish game all on screen at once. They might do some smoke and mirrors but my point is all the effort spent on water and getting smooth terrain could have been spent on more zeds and game play. We still have to rewrite water, its still slow and buggy. None of that would have been needed with static terrain and thus, static water.

Images of a "There are Billions" with First Person View and Tower Defense Building popp into my mind ^^.

Same problem reversed, in MP the player with the lowest GS goes in the POI first. Easy peasy.Still don't see a problem it being implemented as you still run faster then the zombies/animals.
Easy peasy, its outdoors. Its not supposed to be dangerous unless you are in the wasteland. Region based danger for biome spawning is the best design, not leveled guys. Leveled random encounters could be cool though.

I think you are were you are, with a decently successful game, precisely because the game is a voxel-game. Seeing you don't actually like the voxels is a little.. disheartening.
Where in the hell do you get that assumption? I love voxels, just hate the limitations and hell they have put us through. In a perfect world we have diggable destroyable everything with micro voxels and flowing water and endless fps, ray traced rendering, 10000s of zeds etc.

Unfortunately pc's are not progressing at a rate to smash these problems in a timely fashion so design constraints are a thing yet.

madmole I agree im nearly 15 and for like the whole of y9 teachers where leaving and joining all the time I mean im polite and not like all the teens who display idiotic behaviour I must say your point is EXTREMELY valid
While I can’t speak for him, I believe he meant post high school. The stuff you learn up to maybe junior/senior year is very important. At that point, if you aren’t university-bound, you should be learning trade skills. The problem with universities is they push classes on you so you are “well-rounded” and I think it’s over-rated. I spent 13 years at the university, I’m sure 3 years could have been cut out by not taking courses that weren’t related to my profession.

Not entirely, but the underground would be static.

You could not dig any more. Mining as we know it would be replaced by underground POIs where you harvest resources which respawn after a certain amount of time.

my mental state is normal, people who turn into mad killers are often weak minded and unstable trust me kids games are well lets just say they are not up to what I like they give me plain boredom and I have played way worser games than 7 days to die so trust me I will be fine but 7dtdin particular is a masterpiece in my opinion has all the things I like about games and the thing I love about it the most is the developers dedication to their game I may be nearly 15 but I assure you im not a dumb*** trust me:smile-new:
As long as you know the difference between fantasy and reality you're more mature than most, even more so than my kid. I learned this the hard way with racing games when I was 16.

Its important that these are THOUGHTS that they MAYBE add an OPTION AFTER Gold is released for that.

Nothing more.

Dont read things into Madmoles Post that he simply never said, nor meant.

I hated school. Found out taking on a trade skill might not cut it in life, especially when it involves technology. I was a telephone guy... worked my way up to Avaya certified master technician one step at a time. Times changed, things went digital, wireless. Ended up in a kitchen cooking Greek food.

Went to school and now I write software.

Yeah, lol. That they could possibly be thinking like that at this point is disheartening. Just finish your VERY NICE voxel based survival game and make a static game next. Don't try to morph this into some hybrid that won't do either very well.

Um.............. punctuation is your friend............ maybe you do need some of what school can teach you.

I do but I don't think the same for quite a few people in my school....

Don't worry about it. The Fun Pimps won't give up the voxels in this game. But of course the successor could be a game with a static world.

Disclaimer may be TL:DR

First: The future central wasteland hub will be a nice addition; thanks for keeping the thought alive.

Believe it or not a174 Rwg config with the city spherical module plus the seed i always use gives me a

650-800m central now. Add to that, you building the game to allow customization, I just paint the biome

and get wasteland there.

For the static terrain post, The first thing I saw was the word "option". I always like options.

The game is not ugly, or clunky or limited. You have a small dedicated team, that is using what started out as a very simplistic

game platform. TFP and Unity has been limited thus far by technological advances in the engine, the immutability of time, and

standardized rules. But that game engine has switched gears, their technology has "Growed" up. A lot of it is because of the

contributors at the store, that aren't following but now bending, making, breaking, rules for traditional limitations.

Now, where can you get a resource like that. The forbidden word zone perhaps.

Just recently one of the staff posted something that if used nontraditionally can append A* algorithm and its functionality.

Example of potential rule bending:

Uma which is now Uma2 + single material for texture baking + highly textured unwrapped uv placed on low poly model

+ texture2d array for storage + gpu instancing for calling and rendering + PBR + Albedo alpha tranparency. Traditionally

separate what if they were merged into one process. TFP uses Unity as a base, TFP has a lead over many of the Unity

built games period. TFP has Faatal Kinyajuu Gazz those not listed is because i have not seen their responses yet,

let them flex their muscle, bend, break, and make some new rules, then you may not only get the game you desire, but the

original vision you had.

Can it not be set to have a tick mark in the world creation for a static option or Legacy voxel terrain, Which could be

generated from the RWG image file.

RwgmixerST = static module RwgmixerLGC = legacy terrain RwgmixerLGC+ = Voxel terrain from custom image.

When we M:smile-new: :smile-new: build custom terrains that's basically what is happening. This way you can have personally desired build,

keep the legacy build, and expand it to include a M:smile-new: :smile-new: :smile-new:able custom build. Total addition 96k 2 xml files.

This is just my left field thought.

Last Roland is it cereal? oatmeal recipe confirmed. :smile-new:

The following are off-topic for this thread but may be discussed in General Discussions:Release Dates, Game Mods, LBD, Level Caps, Blood Moon Evasion, Water and Boats

@Roland, Can we add to the list of off-topic subjects the following?:

  • Which one woman is hotter questions.
  • Which fighter is better.
  • UFC match results.
  • Diet-related questions.
  • Madmole's personal assets, including his enormous personal gym, his incredibly expensive custom made sofa, his Hellcat, his castle, and whatever else he has mentioned multiple times already.
  • Madmole's views on the world that have no relation to 7 days to die, including education, people being sensitive, history being stupid, near death experiences and many others that I am forgetting.

I don't mean to be offensive here, but I've been holding back on this for a while now to see if things got better, and it's aggravating to see Madmole write posts in big letters announcing that a game-related subject that he doesn't like discussing in the a18 diary is now off-topic, and still answer every single question of random users on random topics in great detail time and time again, even in an ongoing conversation, like we're in the off-topic section of the forums. It's a very unfair double standard that he has.

I'm not against a developer sharing such things, but at least do it in the appropriate sections of the forum.

100% destructible is/was the buy point for myself. Static, nah.. If i wanted that i'd play more of forest, ark (ewww), subsistence, conan exiles, novus inceptio, osiris new dawn, rust, or savage lands (all in my library - plus any i may have forgotten). Granted, all with a variety of hours spent (none that come even close to time spent in 7d2d), but 7 days has been my "go to" game. I've personally bought 4 copies of the game and have had 9 of my friends that I recommended this game to who ended up buying and they still play consistently to this day (vanilla and modded). I have a lil over 3700 hours on 1 account and a little over 1200 on the other. Being able to do whatever the hell I want with no limitations is where it's at (again, for me). So, I beg, don't start/think of starting of changing those dynamics.

-- Reacting to posts that I'm seeing conversing about changing to static and/or partial static. I do not know the depth that you would choose to go static but from the sounds of it, bunkers or underground bases would be "out". Mining, which I thoroughly enjoy due to its random nature of finding resources vs "find this rock and you get 'x' resource" up top.
