I call witchcraft on Odetta. Using the 666 page number to dowse out the answer!!!
Don't forget I was the only one who predicted A17exp release correctly too, by a wide margin. :bull_head:

A18exp on August 14th, you heard it here first people!

Holy half blocks and great gables! That's awesome!
You were right, Roland. This page 666 is better than the last one. :D
I was just messing around and built some stuff so fast, it truly is as awesome as I had always dreamed. The castle builder in me was filled with childlike glee as if I had built my first lego house.

So is there going to be new shapes or just a different menu?

This one is perfect because the new surprise feature is....

Udderly Amazing
The codename is great because we're gonna end up with a bucket of a white fluid?

That's actually very good news! Now we need just a video video video!

This just pumped my anticipation for A18 into the post-apocalyptic stratosphere.

Although I was at first excited to see the tablesaw added in A17, because new shiny thing, I ended up hating it once I realized it took away all my early game shapes to work with. I did enjoy A17, but mainly for exploring all the new awesome POIs, but I did not build anywhere near as much as I did in A16, and what I did build was square and boring by comparison. Anyway, great move by implementing this, I am super excited to build again.

What I do miss is having bloodless spikes, I am squarely in "hate the new spikes" camp for this reason more than any, I do like the metal upgraded spikes, just want them without the blood. It makes no sense, ruins my immersion, and takes away the useful indicator of where Z's were attacking that was possible by simply looking for blood on the spikes. It feels fake now and I hate it. Also hope electricity system got some love, the dramatic drop in light options, inability to power POI lights, and turrets shooting walls, ended my desire to build bases earlier than expected in A17. Once I had finished exploring the new POIs I stopped playing and have been in observe forums and wait for A18 mode.

I am pumped to build with the new system, just hope enough is fixed/improved overall that I actually play like I used to in A16 again. You guys are making great progress regardless, and are the most interactive dev team I have yet encountered in decades of gaming. Keep it up, excited for A18.

So is there going to be new shapes or just a different menu?
Same shapes new menu for selecting the shape. No more crafting 30 wedges, 30 wedge tips, 4 wedge tip corners, etc etc etc. You craft a stack of flagstone blocks, and decide what shape it will be from a menu. Access it by tapping R or holding R and selecting the shape menu. Shift R selects the shape and closes the menu instantly.

7 Days to Die spoiled me in allowing me to enter any building. I hated the fact that so many structures in FO4 were decorations and props and not places to explore.

(Yep... still lurking...)

You know what? I didn't even realize it until I just read this. I never really liked fake buildings, even more than invisible barriers, especially in games that reward (make) you explore for better things or especially collectibles. In 7D2D not only do you not run into that (although the edge of the map is still seeing improvement every so often) you have all kinds of choices in how you want to do!

Madmole - thank you so much for the feedback on the forums. The interview video was great as well. (Thanks to 'Shawn' also...)

Zombie pathing issues.
If the new pathing is having problems because it's a half solid half door block then maybe, at least temporarily, maybe make a jail door that works like a regular door. Those do exist, doesn't need to slide. I just miss having a strong door I can shoot through, I used jail doors more than any other when building in A16. I miss them.

That or "just" fix the pathing issue, @Faatal ! (I can only imagine what the actual problem is, assume it stems from it not acting like other doors. In which case I still do not know how difficult a solution would be.)

We might be able to only show blood on damaged spikes.
Nice, I hope so. Gonna play regardless, but little details like this do go a long way. Thanks.

Good news!

Any update to improve block rotating?
