@Madmole, this is a question I always wanted to ask, 7 days will Steam Workshop? to download the mods easier, I think it would be something fantastic for all

Madmol answered this question many times. Yes, but after gold!

My problem is that it feel like a bug. Who wants to do a quest that leads to the same trader? And would you get XP for completing it? Kind of silly. We'll just do it right, where the trader will tell you he's out of work right now but heard bob could use some help, I'll mark his location on your map or it starts another quest called find Trader Bob, etc.
Naturally no xp, as Guppycur said. I would even let it cost more if possible, as it is a service to the player not a service the player does to someone else.

I see your problem with it feeling like a bug. But this can be avoided with a quest text that makes it crystal clear what you get:

-----------------------------------

Dear barely Survivor, we from the Crazy Jake Clan like you, a little, maybe. We want to give you a helping hand and show you where the NEAREST trader is. If you don't know him already, remember who told you. If you do, tough luck, you still owe us!

----------------------------------

PS: Penetration perk sounds great

Shooting through walls and zombies sounds amazing. We need more ‘badass’ feeling moments like that.

The arcing path plus sneak damage on the compound bow allows you to pop a zombie in the head from great distance if you aim just right and feel totally badass. Seeing a zombie walk by a window, pulling out your marksman rifle, estimating where their head is now behind the wall, taking the blind shot, then hearing a death rattle (or squishy head explosion!) and seeing the XP gained makes for a total, omg I’m the king of kings!, kind of moment.

It’s part of why I’m so excited for a spear you can throw and retrieve. You’re on a roof, dog is down below, use your parkour to leap off the edge and throw your spear right into it’s flippin’ face mid-air then go pull it out and chuck it into the nearby zombie who just barely heard you land and explode her head before she knows what’s what. I am the God of Death!

A total amount of zombies? I would have thought that you-all would simply have them spawn all night and stop at the crack of dawn. Or perhaps if the player got killed (in SP). All killed in MP.
Disadvantage is that in that case it wouldn't help you much to kill zombies (except if you want to collect xp), it just would drive up ammo use.

It would then be the best strategy to let low-level zombies alive and slow all zombies down as much as possible.

One of the big motivations for me trying a no base play through is I want ALL THE XP. I just did my 3rd horde night last night and got 6 levels!

Was always so sad to have a few dozen zombies die from spikes or blade traps and to get no XP from it, just a steep bill for repair. I’ll gladly exchange ammo and molotovs for tens of thousands of experience points and exhilaration! When you have no base to tend, that’s a LOT of time to collect ammo and dukes for more ammo, and I take the dozen molotovs or pipe bombs often offered as quest reward nearly every time.

I'd argue that telling him where a DIFFERENT trader is, will further limit exploration because they would always know exactly where to go.
Indeed, would be better with something along the lines of: “I’ve got no more work for you at this time but I heard old Bob set up shop somewhere northwest from here, he might have something for you. Tell him I sent you, me and Bob go way back!”

Then you will know the general direction but not how far and you will have to explore a bit to find him.

For a horde night this doesn't matter IMO, but there could still be frail medium and heavy builds. The main goal is aesthetics and performance. RIght now or especially in A16 it was a clown festival of colorful special zombies. They should all be drab, bloody and generally only bosses stand out of the crowd.
This new horde is planned for 18 alpha, or already for 19+?

So... You need a perk for a bullet to work differently?
OMG I broke ur immershun. Get over it. You can rationalize its aiming for where there is no bone so the bullet can pass through and it is a learned technique, not a special ammo.

Madmol,
What you told about the pack of water says that in one pack there will be more than one stack.

I wanted to ask about the boxes of ammunition. If the box of rounds contains a maximum of 200 rounds and one stack contains 50 rounds, can we create a box of rounds when we have 100 or 150 rounds. That is, is it possible to create a pack if the material is not enough? Or do we need the exact amount to create a pack?

It was awesome when we find a pack of rounds in the world, and unpacking it, we will have a surprise when there are 75 rounds, and not 200) Random forever! )
You craft them from 80 and get 100. They are not in loot.

Yes when the game is finished we will focus on workshop.

Yeah I don't want to hack something in when I can just have a programmer do it exactly how I want it. Seems like you could hack it and travel the furthest away from the known traders then read it and then you get it to magically reveal a different one than it would have.

I stealth one shotted a dog with my compound bow and his head gibbed. So rewarding.

Its probably best just to give them a quest marker.

It's not about immersion, it's about putting the game on rails where individual skill means nothing, the game is going to decide your skill level for you.

Yeh yeah Skyrim fallout rust whatever your answer is going to be, but this kind of crap cheapens the individual player's actions.

What's next, if I hit W the game decides if I /really/ want to move forward, but because I didn't buy the walking perk it'll randomize my direction?

Sounds silly, right?

I don't really mind immersion wise, but I do think it'd be better to make such a thing available as part of the game's mechanics rather than as a reward to a few. Seems like a waste of coding otherwise.

Yes pls.

Would like this much better.
