Thanks for the response, the world needs more developers like you! When could we see the concept of new animals?

The bandits are far from A18?

Thanks for all the answers!
We're starting on some bandit visual design and a system that can procedurally build their inventory and armor visuals based on GS rather than hand coding all of that and making specific prefabs.

Sounds ♥♥♥♥ing amazing. But the million dollar question is: Will they make it to A18 or there's no chance?

Will the bandits then be UMA (more variation, cheaper) or custom models (looks better, more expensive) ?

That sounds great, I think it would be the biggest change of 7 Days to add to the bandits, a radical change and the most brilliant, the dream of every lover of these genres of games

Thanks a lot

I tweeted new army truck, but twitter seems to have changed I can't find the way to copy the tweek link anymore.

Best I can do for now is this: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/D6JH7kkUEAAGpN7?format=jpg&name=small

No chance. According to Madmole A18 is shipping with whatever is ready and everything else will be pushed to A19.

Food is just a minor bump in the road getting started and isn't meant to be "don't starve". I can't think of any other survival game where food is the center of attention.
Food doesn't have to be the center of attention. Even Subnautica which you played recently has spoilage - and there is a reason for it. Many games that are not centered on food have spoilage because they want the player to continuously produce/scavenge.

And most of these games don't have 1/10 of the content 7DTD has... Here we have a ton of different foods, cooking, farming, we can hunt wild animals and much of the loot while scavenging is consisted of food items. Do you really want food to be a minor bump in the road after getting started and for all this content to lose much of its meaning? Wouldn't that be a huge waste?

You also played ARK and at the time got excited about food spoilage feeling that we could do it better than the ARK implementation.

Totally agree. A game changer indeed. Saludos desde Uruguay :)

You've got that backwards: Uma (more expensive, ugly) custom models (look better, significantly less expensive cpu and memory). So no they will be custom models.

I'm sure some people will complain about them lol. Zombies can't shoot.

We were never planning to ship them in A18. Artists can often be 1 or 2 alphas ahead of everyone else. In the case of the raft 10 alphas ahead or so lol.

That army truck looks SWEET.

Which reminds me. The short bus in game currently has outrageous hitpoints and gives virtually nothing when wrenched. Is there some kind of reasoning behind that or will it be fixed in A18? Certainly FEELS like a bug at least.

Any plans to balance armor? The stamina and speed hit is way to extreme, IMO the stamina regen hit when moving should be removed, and maybe half the encumbrance movement penalty, as it is I find armor hurts me more than it actually helps me.

hahaha that's true, you can not please everyone! but in that case they're going to play Minecraft and the legends play 7 Days

I kind of like how they did it, its less grindy but its there. A caught fish stays preserved forever. Once you cook it though you better eat it soon or it becomes rotten, unless you did the cured version that requires salt, then I think those last forever as well. But at the end of the day that wouldn't be much different than what we have now, you just wouldn't cook a bunch of stuff up. It would just be a few more clicks to have preserved food. We're doing it for free now. Are a few more clicks and scavenging salt that great?

I know everyone has ideas but too much time spent on food equals less time preparing your fort for the horde, doing quests and looting POIs, crafting new gear, which to me are much more enjoyable than eating. I don't even like taking the time to eat IRL at times. When I was a kid I would draw comics or build cars out of paper and cardboard for 12 hours straight and only realize I was starving when I got up to pee and got dizzy. No wonder I was 6'2 and 128 pounds once lol.
