WoW!!!!!!! Man!!!! How did You do that????

If gas is highly sought after, it opens it up to being a loot item that you can get excited about.

It could be added to supply crates and to trader quest rewards and people would actually appreciate it.

Spend your week building money for gas and looting gas to prepare for horde night.

Spend your week repairing your base, looting and saving for ammo to prepare for horde night.

If gas = brass we have balance in the universe no matter which way you wish to play it.

No doubt.

Madmole, are all biomes getting hit with the texture updates for A18, or just whatever gets done before then?

I can see the wasteland will be the hardest to get looking good.

I can't imagine getting any rubble and debris texture looking great on such a flat surface. Are there any ideas being thrown around?

I really don't get all this "nerf gas 'cause everyone is driving through horde night" talk. I've played with 100's of people on private and public servers, through countless horde nights. I can remember ONE time ONE player tried to do this in A13 on a minibike, and he managed to die somehow.

Seriously, what's the big deal. The percentage of players who do this is low enough that it's got to be a non-issue.

IDC if people drive around on horde night, hell, it's fun, but I think gas needs to be more difficult to attain because it's too easy right now. Might as well not even have gas...

... anyone ever run out? No? Then it is currently useless.

IMHO parallax occlusion mapping for texture would help this.

That is the reason why Gas needs to be nerfed. Not for prevent any other strategy, just simply because its so plentiful, its never an issue, and effectively makes no difference to a game.

That was never a reason to nerf gas.

It is a separate problem though and not because few people do this but because it offers a cheap way to avoid the horde without any real game play value. As MM has said, they want to make driving away have actual game play value as well if that is how you want to play it.

I will say that I have taken a break from the game itself at times because having this easy way out cheapens the hell out of spending so much time building my base and securing it. It will be nice to see that running will come with its own set of challenges. That is a good thing.

Sofar my guy and myself have logged over 300 hrs in 7 days then we found Ravenhurst and we now been playing for 3 weeks daily and we brought friends to the game as well. So how i or anyone else spends their damn off time at home on their computers that they bought and paid for is personalty none of your concern or business Madmode. Shawnie
....

Man you are way off base here. MM did not say don't play ravenhurst, he said it is off topic for THIS thread. There is an entire section of the forums devoted to mods. There is even a thread that is specifically devoted to ravenhurst.

Yeah, you're right. Might actually be a perfect example of where it would be best used with those bricks and chunks of debris.

I wonder if it's compatible with the terrain and all of the systems they are currently working on now.

We've talked about horde nights creating an electromagnetic storm that shuts down vehicles, or have zombies run in front of you and really damage vehicles because they are feral.
EM storm - no. Zed threat while driving - hell ya. That is exactly what horde night needs to deal with driving. I would like to see cops particularly be able to target operating vehicles and raves be able to tango with the gyro. That is what I and a few others here thought the spitting vulture was tbh before I played it. Give the antagonists some tools to deal with us.

Are you referring to the fact that a lower gamestage means fewer 'strong' zombies that carry the better loot bags? Or something else?
.....

Loot is directly tied to game stage. All loot is as far as I know.

I was thinking about this and what I thought of was a quest that sends you to a random POI and starts a timer leading up to a massive attack wave of zombies-- like a bloodmoon horde. You have the initial time to prepare and barricade the POI as best you can. Then you have to stay in the area and kill a specific number of zombies and survive until you do. If you complete the quest then the heat map reduces to zero everywhere and remains at zero for a day or two before building up again.
Reducing the heat map doesn't affect gamestages but would give a sense of reducing local zombie presence.
Wow. You got some good ideas Roland. I like this - that would give players some real ability to influence the game world. Have a nice break from the screamers at home base too - those can get so damn annoying.

People should like this one:
Added changing the held item during weapon reload cancels reload (anim speed x30, no ammo change).

17 uses Microsplat for terrain.

It has a tessellation and parallax module that can be added.

If 18 has upgraded to Megasplat then parallax is already included, they just need to turn it on ;)

That's awesome. I'm not a graphics guy, so this stuff I have very little knowledge about... but quite interesting nonetheless.

How would they go about having it active for the terrain in this biome but not in others? Would it be another layer/channel in the splat?

He's 6'5" and 270 and a state level wrestler and was benching 375 at 20 years old so I wouldn't want any part of that lol. I've sparred with black belts and beat them but I wouldn't want to mess with Rick, maybe its from him farting on my head growing up lol. Remember this was back in the 70's when farting, swirlies, wedgies, hurtz donuts, charlie horses, wet willies, dunking and kill the man were politically correct behavior.
Sorry, this needed to be referenced :) lol

MIght as well not even have GAS? don't even get me goin- did they change molotovs to not need it for an ingredient what about gas engines for traps...? unless you are being sarcastic I don't think you or anyone else has thought this through./.

Too many people want to change things based on small % of what players do to take advantage of minor game play elements...Quit it.

My point was that gas is so plentiful, easy to find, and easy to make that there really is no point in having it at all. It is a non-issue in game.

Has nothing to do with preventing people's way of playing.

Have you ever run out of gas in game? I would bet not.

You dont. Its either on for all or off for all. Its a shader thing.

It`s not distant, its brilliant. Looks so much well and alive.
Thanks man, things are shaping up. Started my fortitude build, I wasn't too thrilled about it, but I'm having a total blast. Ak47 and brass knuckles, I'm shredded zed heads and its a ton of fun. I don't even use the AK unless I run out of stamina.

No gas? Why? Is this like "if I can't have all the gas, I don't want any at all"? Not understanding that.

I'm sure if this caused a shortage for your generators or molotovs to the point where it made using either impractical, they would just make it so that they use less gas, but vehicles use more.

posts before you were talking about ppl driving around on horde night.. and no I haven't run out.. it is plentiful.

I would make it harder to find-so we use shale... or lessen the amount you get from a barrel. it was tough to find shale in past alphas..

if its easier now- then by all means... it would be ok to deplete it by 70%.
