that may be asking a bit much with existing code
I have no backround in programming but i cannot imagine it would be difficult coding in a simple 3 second timer from when a button is pressed, in order to release the fingers off the spring loaded handle, till the explosion. I think the animation would be more work than those few simple lines of code. I could be wrong and I probably am =P

You are right. It's a simple and typical task for most games, and other software. It's actually easier in games because the engine probably comes with several different timing methods already in place to choose from.

The timer already existed in some degree, as seen in previous videos. For some reason it was changed, but we haven't heard why. Perhaps they're just trying it out this way.

Key words: With mods. There were 1/2 walls, 1/4 walls, 1/8 walls, nice snap points. Hell no to one block per meter dude. I want to put 20 clutter items on a desktop, not one. I want to rotate my walls 274.3 degrees. I want to build not on a grid.
The best solution is a hybrid, both have pros and cons. But less than 1 meter thick walls with decorations on them? Yes please.
Hi Joel, in that case I suggest you to have a look at this game I bought on Steam some time ago...

https://store.steampowered.com/app/622420/

The building system is exactly like you want and each object in the game is handled directly in 3D, meaning that you actually need to put stuff in some containers by hand and you place 3D objects on top of desks and other objects.

However, I have mixed feelings about this inventory/object system... while it feels good on paper, when you actually play with it, it feels clunky and cumbersome plus often there objects "rag dolling" all over the place: I really missed the "standard" object handling stuff while playing this.

I have a feeling someone got mad that his granades were not exploding when he wanted them to *cough Madmole cough* so it was rage changed. ;)

Naw but for real though, I'm guessing MM did not like the physics or feel of the granades so as a quick fix this instant explosion was introduced. Then again maybe its just a bug that crept in, the possibilities are endless.

@Madmole
What is up with the granades now exploding upon impact? If that was changed on purpose not a good idea for those times we might accidentally release it by mistake or aim wrong, as in what happen to you. Atleast a 3 second delay is needed for this very purpose IMO.

Source:

Take it you must of missed the pages where he talked about having the ability to have explosives explode on impact. ;) ..... understandable considering a lot of pages been about that crazy stuff ;)

He has a perk/mod to explode on impact. They still have the regular delay ones.Take it you must of missed the pages where he talked about having the ability to have explosives explode on impact. ;)
Thanks. Yeah that must have been discussed during a 2 week period not long ago when i was not active on the forums. I had no idea there is a mod for that. A18 looking better and better and so are those granades!

Might be perk I can't remember what one it is mod or perk. But think it was talked about after his last video or something.

The video where he uses both kinds of explosives and the one kept bouncing.

@Madmole

I found the easter egg included in that video. ;)

Clue #1 Word

Clue #2 Bomb

Clue #3 two words hidden within this post is also used to describe this easter egg (a clue to find the clue, more fun for the people)

I wonder if anyone else has found this little gem you dropped. :) lol

*turns to the masses and whispers* has anyone else found it yet?

watch full video and see if you can find it

Its day 28 horde night for an Alpha 18 perception build, check out the junk turret, contact grenades and kill streak perk!

He is MM, what do you expect him to do, if not making those mistakes.. and I love to see both type of granades in game, impact one been little more louder and cover more area, but delay one been small and good for sneaking in poi.

They sure are ZombieHorde. Any child actors in games that involves violence/nudity or players using drug use for health gain etc is illegal in Australia. Day Z and Fallout 3 etc stop development temporally because of those rules and had to change the drugs/health issue. You can't get into trouble if you have it but to sell it, the seller can get up to 10 years jail for selling Refused Classification games. I just hope TFP dont add child actors in the games as it will get banned for sale in Steam for Australia.

The Professional (or Leon, as it's known to most of the world) is one of my favourite movies. Young Natalie Portman impressed me so much with her acting as a 13 year old child - who smoked and was around drug dealers and shot guns and killed people - and who drank milk *choke*.

Hanna was another strange and disturbing, but good, movie with 2 kids (although I think one was really approaching adulthood) talking about being lesbian together and even a suggestive kiss on the lips.

The game Life is Strange (highly recommended) has two teenager kids doing drugs - but that is animated using motion capture and the real life actors probably weren't teenagers.

The Blue Lagoon had child nudity in it, although it's a pretty old movie now.

American McGee's Alice had babies scalp cut open and all sorts of weird things - but again, not real actors.

Braindead/Dead Alive had a zombie toddler in it, who got beaten and witnessed people getting killed and ended up in a blender.

And I remember seeing Bart's weener at least once.

All watched or played in Australia. So, explain that, Mr. Classification! :-P

Well you get what you want both will be in game. Not sure about the other part of what you said but both granades are in game.

Well, perhaps the majority of players would be okay with having child zombies in the game. However, the number of people who would consider it a deal-breaker probably significantly outweigh the number of people who consider NOT having them to be a deal-breaker. That's the metic to consider.
Would be interesting to have a vote. See in real world figures who would be offended, who wouldn't, who would stop playing the game, and even who might start playing the game because they like extreme content.

Doubt it, getting them on foot, patrolling POIS, taking cover, using meds etc will be a lot of work. They don't need to do all that. It would be cool, but pathing a 4x4 would be tough. Maybe them on motorcycles wouldn't be too hard. Flight shouldn't be too hard either tbh.
It would be insanely fun to see rocker bandits on motorcycles driving around and shooting things, maybe that would be one gangs way to survive blood moon and also annoy/make it harder for players to survive, because defenses against zombies are quite different compared to NPC. I just am afraid that bandits will never ever leave their POI and will be just different kind of "zombie" to deal with when clearing POI and nothing more.

Like it was said though some places will not allow it so then they would have 2 different updates to make and that will not happen. When I believe they have some mods that will be easier to do.

.........

Still wanting zombie clowns ;)

My thoughts / Ideas on the Junk turret :

As soon as I heard about this thing , I knew I was going to go Agi/Int build. So far I do like it but some questions

It's obvious perk is being able to hold it and fire it manually like a gun , and deploy it without need for electricity , and cheaper ammo.

But can you craft multiple of them and have easy defense? I believe they use scrap iron for ammo which really isn't hard to get.

I had an idea to make the Junk turret more unique to the intelligence build. What if it could be upgraded through mods and intelligence perks? Maybe things like increase fire rate , increase range , upgrade ammo type to eventually even shoot 7.62. But to balance this either make it so you can only craft/use 1 at a time or , make it impractical to deploy multiple at once. This would be accomplished by making it so when you deploy them to fire on their own , they only stay active for about 30 seconds - 2 minutes (maybe upgradeable?) after which they will stop firing and need to be manually cranked or something to continue atonamous mode.

I only watched a few minutes of your recent vid and come here to post after seeing the turret. I did notice the turret seemed to stop shooting sometimes and I guess it does have a limited ammo capacity? That works as well.

Just hitting inbetween the topics here, but wanted to come back to one thing...

Recently started going through Darksiders 3 and a funny thing was when i walked in a medium sized puzzle section after learning that "to unlock a door you need to put swords in the hands of an angel statue". The first thing you see as you enter (with paths leading sideways and a big area underneath) are three statues of angels with one having already a sword (so need 2 more). Suddenly Fury says something like:

- It's three. It always has to be three.

So yeah, it always has to be 3!
