In what world is 7 Days to Die in the same gameplay ballpark as Borderlands, Destiny, and Warframe? This whole "looter shooter" argument is bunk. So, yet another gameplay decision removed. "Do I leave this ore full and get full value from it in the forge or do I scrap it"? Looter/Shooter is NOT the genre that made 7DTD special and unique. It seems to be it's future tho, It's a shame, the game was truly something special.
Thus, the playing game "7 days to die" - very soon, will be a senseless process, inherited us from the Legacy .It's just not special if you take a step back.
You mine iron, you smelt it into bars if you want to craft anything useful with it.
Nothing unusual there.
That weird half step was some legacy nonsense.
Speculation, but it sounds like Iron content from mining iron veins is equivalent to the Forge ratio of Iron from Iron ore (i.e. if a vein yielded 100 Iron Ore, it will now yield 500 Iron). As for the stack size, I'm guessing it is unchanged - so you can call that a stealth nerf to Iron carrying capacity! :biggrin-new: Lol.So if we only get the scrap iron, is the ratio the same?1 ore use to smelt into 5 iron. If we use to get, for example, 10 ore from a stone then that would = 50 scrap. Do we now get 50 scrap from a stone or do we still just get 5?
Also we could carry 6,000 ore which would be 30,000 scrap...can we now stack scrap to 30,000 or is it still 6,000?
Asking because I haven't harvested any ores yet in my new game.
Dat resource bundle tho.As for the stack size, I'm guessing it is unchanged - so you can call that a stealth nerf to Iron carrying capacity! :biggrin-new: Lol.
I kid. I mean there is a reasonable argument to be made that underground building/tunneling/mining is being de-emphasized. If they remove the mine/cave POI then I'll ask you for tinfoil hat designs.I'm not much of a fan of conspiracy theories, but [conspiracy theory]
That's a good point. Others should follow this advice. At some point, someone will realize that creating a drama for something so insignificant is the assurance of losing all credibility. Many of you should breathe a blow, and so avoid sinking into ridicule.
>Removed - please refrain from politics on these boards - OzHawkeye<It's not like I'm gonna run for POTUS and it might come up some day.
I took the statement to mean credibility in terms of your feedback to TFP as opposed to fellow forum posters. That's a good point. Others should follow this advice.I probably won't because I never care what other people think about me anyway.
I'm not too concerned about my credibility in a game forum either. It's not like I'm gonna run for POTUS and it might come up some day.
Good rule of thumb thoug for all those concerned about meta-social status.
The reason in my mind is that both iron ore and brass objects could be scrapped, but you make a choice whether or not to scrap because smelting would yield more. That choice you make when looting can be detrimental. You may have had enough brass for bullets if you smelted those radiators whole instead of scrapping them. However, how did mining up a useless resource make mining "interesting"? The only purpose for Raw Iron was to slightly compress the actually-useful Iron resource 5:1 in inventory. It only became useful if you smelted it (or scrapped it, for an even smaller net inventory savings). With bundles, is there any reason really for that intermediate material which can't be used for anything? Besides the obvious reason of It Has Always Been That Way, I mean.
Maybe if you needed a job? I'm probably just seen as a PITA to them for expressing any opinions at all.I took the statement to mean credibility in terms of your feedback to TFP as opposed to fellow forum posters. One is slightly more useful than the other![]()
Fair. I agree that "mine up an ore and you must smelt it before its usable" made perfect sense, but "scrapping rocks" never did.The reason in my mind is that both iron ore and brass objects could be scrapped, but you make a choice whether or not to scrap because smelting would yield more. That choice you make when looting can be detrimental. You may have had enough brass for bullets if you smelted those radiators whole instead of scrapping them.I have to also mention that scrapping iron ore into iron was not always a thing. I thought it was stupid when it was added. So I guess the plus side is that the ridiculousness of scrapping a rock is gone.
You brought up the subject! That's funny... but shhhh (no politics allowed)
Haha nicely doneYou brought up the subject!![]()
Still, I feel the only people who will get their jimmies rustled by a bit of factual commentary are those who can't accept a bit of factual commentary.
However, and to bring this back to the topic at hand, I won't dig this mine any deeper; regardless of what type of material I get from it.
The problem is not in "ironfragments", but towards the development of this game.Talk about non-issues not worth discussion. C'mon peoples.
The digging is still needed even if destructible terrain goes away. It will be used for zombies trapped above you in POIs.On the bright side, Step 4 there implies removing digging zombies! I hate those guys.
