PC A17 ... Where are you

I don't get some people, 7d2d has more content than any other indie game, more than any AAA game, the crafting capabilities are ridiculously huge... What happens when the game goes full release and no more content comes out? Will you hit Steam and give a negative review just because you are bored??

These people need a wide range of hobbies. Whining on the internet about not getting what they want isn't one of them regardless of how much time they waste doing so.

If any piece of software provides you with a 1:1 ratio of $ to hours of fun the game is a roaring success!

If you're looking for another game to pass the time waiting on A17 and haven't tried it yet, give Project Zomboid a look. I'm quite hooked at the moment.

Love that game, the progress is SUPER slow though. Some things are not very obvious, which makes you waste a ton of time/resources on building things that don't have a functional use. Mainly mods that added camping/tents. You would think you could use a tent to sleep, but NO it's a container! SMH

can people understand why people are worrying about the progress of 7DTD? I mean theres no progress update or follow up to address its inactivity... I pass it regfulary in my steam libary and im like "will this ever get updated? HAs it been abandoned by the devs?"

Honestly, no, I can't. Probably because I can't understand why people who are worrying about the progress of the game enough to post about it don't bother to look at the very first pinned thread on the Steam Community forums to find out. Or do a quick search on youtube. Or on these forums. Or bother to read any of the other near-daily threads griping about when A17 will be out and see what the responses are.

I was actually hoping that if it takes long enough that they would be able to get the bandits in. They said stuff about followers and pets in the past as well. I wouldn't mind if they wait until they have all features ready to go, but I would like to see Joel continue the weekly/bi-weekly video updates. I would love to have boats and fishing as well. I think these have been done in mods but to have to be official supported content would be much better.

at least they show something. are they supposed to show you every little detail everyday? they will show bigger things when they are done

 
From Roland's thread I sort of got that the game is in a really unplayable buggy state right now and so they are right to not show a ton of footage, even if they are getting a lot of work done. Sometimes you work for weeks or even months with nothing to actually "show," and that's totally normal in development. Usually I like to be able to see real progress each day I work on something but sometimes that's just not possible, especially as TFP is experiencing growing pains trying to work out how to make use of a larger team - something they are not used to.

I call it smart, think of the things they have shown us. Trees,roads, poi's, deers, new transports. Save for acouple of those, they haven't shown us the good stuff yet. They are playing poker with us and haven't shown there hand yet. Stealth, attributes, deeper mods, skills, weapons we will those when the game comes out. For now we wait to see there hand patiently.

Nope it is in fact the most trustworthy and thoroughly well-documented and proven estimate I've ever had the pleasure of witnessing in my life

I don't care about time! All patches what cames out was every time better and better. A17 coming when the developers are ready.

It is posted here and there is a link to it stickied at the top of the Steam forums as well. The post here is easy to find if you go to the News and Announcements forum at the top of the list of forums and then click on the A17 developer’s diary. All the links to videos and updates are in the first post and all the changes and additions so far are listed in the second post.
