The missed post from JaWoodle

organize campaigns to try to hurt game developers who they feel have done something against them. Fans are the worst.
I would also get emotional about things you just wrote except we are talking about the devs that just tried to blame us for delaying bandits and did tons things like this for the entire development process. I understand what you mean but company you try to decribe there is not TFP.

This makes no sense. They simply stated that due to adding all the changes people wanted the bandit update would take longer to release. It's common sense.

The tons of things you must be referring to is listening to the player base and making a genuine effort to appease a jaded community who missed old school 7D2D.

I myself appreciate the fact they have listened and made changes as it shows they care about what the community thinks.

I can't really add anything to the discussion in terms of facts about what happened or is happening, but...

petty crime

I would point out I don't see a criminal angle here. The Creator Program would be contract law, copyright is civil law, and any NDA dispute would be civil law unless the "US Economic Espionage Act" were somehow involved. Copyright claims don't need a contract.

"Crime" suggests the wrong court. There is no prosecutor. Nobody is going to jail.

Probably he was using that term in the wider popular sense.

To make it crystal clear: they released a low quality update that the community never asked for, then blamed us for having higher expectations because meeting those expectations would take more development time. It's easy to confuse cause and effect here.

From my point of view, they only started a dialogue with the community after the review bombing and the extremely bad PR.

Show me where they blamed you. Give me the direct quote. You probably heard that from someone like Rob and went with his narrative.

It's not rocket science. If they work on the changes then don't get mad at them if bandits are delayed. If you think they are bad developers then fine stop playing and go play something else.

Very possible. But that doesn't change the fact they are listening now. If you continue to blame them for everything and give them no credit then there is no incentive for them to listen to anyone and it doesn't pay off. People will just whine and cry regardless. Easier to just ignore them and move on.

Also, I notice another YouTube social activist More2Me 4Life that is encouraging people to down vote the game. These people are toxic for the community.

just to remind you....the 2.0 "■■■■ storm" that led TFP to the conclusion that they would do the Sandbox Update...was caused by them NOT LISTENING FOR YEARS. It was only after the review bomb that they LISTENED

They do themselves no favors by being so poor at communication.

What does that have to do with woodle? If you want to create a "TFP used be terrible and didn't listen to its community" thread feel free.

At the moment, they are listening and doing a decent enough job that I feel warrants praise.

what does that have to do with woodle? didn't know everything had to relay back to him, but, here's a reason: he gets blamed for causing the "■■■■ storm" because he made a vid after 2.0.

It seems you do understand why I pointed that out...TFP caused the ■■■■ storm because they didn't listen for years. It doesn't require a separate thread for something that is well known.
Because they have not really outwardly changed how they communicate, many people might disagree with you that they are listening well now. So, I agree to disagree with that premise. oh well.

So did they "tried to blame us for delaying bandits" (your own words) or "blame us for having higher expectations" because they were **not** taking extra development time and not delaying some more?

Or are you trying to shift the argument?

From my point of view, they only started a dialogue with the community after the review bombing and the extremely bad PR.

Exactly, for the specific section of the "community" that was surprised and disappointed with the game that TFP really wanted to create. I agree. Though TFP promised "us" (a different section of the community) in their kickstarter pitch the game they have been developing all along. Where is the promise they would make a game that suits you? I don't see it.

jesus wept...what is your real argument here?

I don't have a link to it, and comments in video format are annoying to search for (or at least I don't know how tbh).
But as I recall the comment was roughly
"You guys didn't like it*, so we have to fix it and delay other development (like bandits)"
It* referring to just-released changes in 2.0... not sure if he specifically mentioned bandits, but I think he did.

So, both. Blaming "our dislike of it" for dev delays covers both already.

Quite unfortunate. Telling me/people what to do with my time is bit toxic, please don't.
Show me where they blamed you.
"But if YOU want storms to be better...". That's a clear shifting responsibility. Community didn't do bad, unwanted update. TFP did.

So it is "very possible" because people reacted. 2.0 had valid criticism. 3.0 received a positive response, even on reddit, I can't see many people whining about it.

Meeting (our) higher expectations will delay bandits.

They never have to but they started doing it after the backlash and I'm grateful they're willing to work/listen with us now.
"You guys didn't like it*, so we have to fix it and delay other development (like bandits)"
He mentioned bandits and the impact that fixing the update would have on their staff.

It's advice. Why partake in something you dislike so much?

He says. "just do you know, when reacting to feedback and we are changing our production plan, we are effectively delaying bandits. Just so you know, when you request a lot of stuff and you come in numbers and you ask for it and we say alright we're listening, we're going to do this, that costs us time"

Seems like a reasonable statement to me. You are inferring intent from a declarative statement.

Now where people seem to be upset is the fact that 2.0 being bad was TFP fault and not the players. That much is true, and perhaps he could have worded it better but at face value it's just a statement and reading further into it requires more information otherwise it's just what someone else sees as their intent.

Yes?i am not sure what you are getting at. I am not disagreeing that 2.0 was a dumpster fire. Unlike some I have posted my feedback on 2.0. Feel free to check my previous posts and confirm if you would like.
Meeting (our) higher expectations will delay bandits.
You said that, not them.

Okay, I get it now. I was wrongly guessing Satosik meant 3.0 with his expectations.

They literally said that the fact we want 2.0 fixed will cost them time and affect the team, mentioning the bandits in between. I can DM you the link to the video if you want. I don't think it's even a matter of interpretation.
Weather effects were wanted by a lot of people.
You are right, but from what I've read, people wanted hail that damages the base, floods, deadly tornadoes, or icy roads.

I typed up in a reply to you already what they said. Here is a video for reference. Previously in the video he states that there is a diverse group of people who all want different things and they are working on making that a reality. Perhaps there is something else I might have missed in the video that better describes what you are talking about and if so please feel free to post it an i'll look at it.
