I live in my base, more or less. I would never live in chests. That would be far too uncomfortable. 😁
Killing time is often the main reason for organizing my storage. That's why I often do it at night and I organize it in a way that allows me quick access to the materials I need on a regular...
It's not about whether it's difficult to implement, it's about whether the developers want the feature in the game at all. Inventory management is part of the game and when you are able to craft directly from storage you tend to be pretty sloppy and just throw everything in a chest. I know this...

A little tale back from A17:
Back then there was a bug that I like to call the green plague. Radioactive zombies spawned much earlier and in greater numbers than they should have. This led to about 10 deaths for me at that single POI. It was mainly a radioactive spider zombie that killed me...
You know what they say. Pessimists are optimists with experience. 😁
We know from experience that certain things usually happen before a new version is released. For example, there are usually developer streams weeks before the experimental release. Then there is the Streamer Weekend...

This varies depending on how far into the game I am. In the early to mid-game, I usually loot the Trader first, as I usually discover new towns via the open new trade route quest. Later in the game, a T4 or T5 quest usually dictates which POI I loot first.
I wonder whether a console can even handle so much objects at once. You've probably seen the mod on the Guns, Nerds and Steel channel. He has a system that is far more powerful than even the most modern console.
This is not a tweak. It is already a given. If you open the lock with the pickaxe or the auger, the heat in the chunk increases. This also applies when the explosive charge is used.
The annoying part is not that the picks break, but that you have to wait. If the picks would break immediately instead of having to wait 10 seconds it would be much more bearable. A mini-game at least gives you something to do.
There are mods that give you a choice. You can pick the lock in...
