PC V3.0 Sandbox Siege Dev Diary

Maybe, 3.0 will reignite some interest for you. There is alot of sandbox options that make the game play similar to the older alphas.

Once the features are all anounced, I will share some of my favorites and why.

Do you know if we're getting an air drop range option (similar to blood moon range)? *Cough cough*

My main hopes are

Infection speed
Zombie spawns
Eatting smells from items that really shouldn't have them (corn, peas etc) ■■■■ vegan zombies
Classic zombie spawns or alpha 16 style (normal feral and rads)
Hostile Wildlife in the pine forest
And many more

I’d like to request an option that forces the map to generate all POIs, as well as a notification if, for example, the map is too small, and a limit on duplicate POIs (depending on the biome?). -I mentioned earlier the option to choose, for example, one biome that’s rockier than another (I noticed on my generated map that a large portion of the roads leading out of town don’t have a smooth exit but instead have a sharp drop in terrain, and I wondered if that’s because I set the hills percentage too low), the option to generate larger cities
and perhaps a change in where zombies spawn (if not in their behavior) in situations where someone builds a base in the rocks so that they attack from the front, for example, rather than appearing 50 meters above the player or behind a mountain and having trouble finding the entrance
Let them be guided by smell or noise and make the effort to come from the main entrance instead of turning into diggers
Add streams, some waterways/redesign the rivers

That's not "adding an option", that's completely reworking the random map generation! 😅

@faatal Is there an option to spawn in a random biome? It would be fun to have the option to spawn in a city or even a POI ;)
In case they don't add this and you're either on PC or playing on a dedicated server or P2P with a PC host, you can easily edit the spawnpoints.xml file to do this. Just change the coordinates listed to wherever you want, or add new ones. You can set it to spawn in any biome and can spawn in towns or even in POI... including at the top of a POI if you want to make things really challenging. ;)

The coordinates just need to match the location you want, and the middle number (elevation) can be left at 0 to spawn on ground level. If you want to spawn inside a POI, you'd set the middle number to the elevation of whichever floor you want to spawn on.

On another note I am i interested to see what new other content is coming with 3.0 there aren't really any hits or anything as far as I know. Its mostly Sandbox settings and that's great but interesting to see the new additions features coming

I think Laz Man said that they were trying to get some new POI added for 3.0. Other than that, I'm not sure what else might appear. We know they are planning to add the chicken coop and they have that pig model sitting there waiting to be added into the game. I doubt the pig will get added for 3.0 and the chicken coop is somewhat unlikely, but maybe. Some info would be nice.

Dude, I don't think that new pig model is ever getting added at this point. I think they forgot about it.

I use it sometimes in an advisory role through Copilot, never to generate code.

I have mixed feelings. It is slow and I am not a patient one when it come to waiting on computers to do something. It can also hang and give no results or often pointless results that I do not care about. Occasionally it is just plain wrong.
Current AI coding tools remind me of early IntelliSense (around 2000), helpful if you know what you are doing.

The AI works very well when I am helping my nephew code his 1st year uni assignments but can't deal with my complex multi threaded, realtime C# services, (lots of polymorphism / recursion confuses it) or our massive PL/SQL DB / APEX apps.

I just spent a couple of months re-coding a web page developed with AI. It sort of worked, but struggled to give the same result consistently, which was an issue as it was balancing ship cargos worth over US$18 mill each.
