People are tense. We're living in tense times. There's a lot going on in the world. They should switch their versioning to letters or even better a code word. Instead of 3.0 just call it "Sandbox Update". The bandit update can be called "Threat Update". They bucked industry norms a little bit which caused confusion. They should just go whole hog and abandon numbers.
When speaking about the time when the Beatles were breaking up, when things were getting very tense between them, John Lennon explained how things were like by saying: “it’s because you got the tambourine wrong that my life’s a misery.”
TFP's naming / numbering convention is some people's tambourine. A lot of people find all sorts of tambourines in this game.
However, the less people know, the better. Version numbers should be buried like they are in games like COD. There is a long string of numbers you can see on the screen, but the font is small and you gotta go out of your way to see it. And they never title their updates with those numbers.
Updates should be titled "Minor Update" or "Bug Fixes". And when it's something big then give it a name like "Storm's Brewing", etc.
So V2.6 (b10) should read on the thumbnail or wherever:
Minor Update
Changelog 2.6.10
And then you can have things like...
Get Some Sand in Your Box
Changelog 3.0.192
■■■■■in' Bandits
Changelog 4.0.251
Boom! Problem solved. And I'm giving it away for free.
You're welcome.
