This happened in older versions, but not in the current one.The zombies have never managed to pile on top of one another to reach it, even without parkour.
This ladder has one small problem: a couple of years without lubrication in a rainy climate and it stops extending. It would be great if they added also retractable (manual) ladders, like the fire escape ladders you see sometimes on buildings.

Yeah, agreed... but fortunately we're playing A GAME!This ladder has one small problem: a couple of years without lubrication in a rainy climate and it stops extending.
In PvP for example they could make it so that it can only be activated by the owner. That way if you're inside your LCB area, enemy players would not be able to place blocks to climb up but you'd be able to enter your base by activating the ladder easily and quickly.I mean, I just put a ladder at whatever height I can jump. No need for blocks. The zombies have never managed to pile on top of one another to reach it, even without parkour. But that would still be interesting to have.
If your base is discovered in PvP, it means you no longer have a base.In PvP for example they could make it so that it can only be activated by the owner. So... you don't defend it?If your base is discovered in PvP, it means you no longer have a base.
They can nerd pole, remember. Even if they couldn't, it's not hard to add a ladder of your own or blocks as steps to get in. A ladder of any kind won't change them being able to get into the base.In PvP for example they could make it so that it can only be activated by the owner. You could, sure. I think he meant that nothing you can do other than actively defend it will prevent another person from being able to destroy it if they wanted to.So... you don't defend it?![]()
It is much easier to notice a player running along a wall than a player sitting in the bushes. And if your base is found, they'll loot it. This is especially convenient when you're offline.So... you don't defend it?![]()
Ok then, but I don't get why this has anything to do specifically with ladders anyways. It is much easier to notice a player running along a wall than a player sitting in the bushes. And if your base is found, they'll loot it. This is especially convenient when you're offline.
You were talking about ladders being only activated by the owner in PVP to avoid being able to get into the base. That wouldn't really work.Ok then, but I don't get why this has anything to do specifically with ladders anyways.![]()
Riamus already answered, so I'll just add a bit. In PvP, it's easier for me to carefully approach the base, crouch in the bushes with a sniper rifle, wait for a player to appear in my sights, and carefully put a bullet in their head. So let's leave the PvP mode - it's very unique.Ok then, but I don't get why this has anything to do specifically with ladders anyways.![]()

They could be usable for bases instead of using blocks to reach higher ground.
So other than appearances, how does this help? I guess you'd like to be able to leave it down when you leave the building?
In PvP for example they could make it so that it can only be activated by the owner.

I don't understand your critics... it's the same thing as the drawbridge.Sure, but to activate it you have to jump up and grab it. If that's the case, why does the ladder need to extend? You can already jump and grab a ladder. Or are you assuming the ladder will stay down? I thought they automatically went back up, but I've never had one to play with so I don't really know. Hence, my inquiry.
