PC What else is planned for 2.0?

1) keep pretending that is what I am doing...demanding dates...and not the reality that I am asking them to do better at keeping us apprised of progress. You can't even say I have been asking for the specifics of the content. just asking them to do better at communicating out the delays.
2) yes. I keep getting an answer to something I have not been asking for. I keep being told development is hard...cool...so why did they set such aggressively optimistic dates on the road map? nope not gonna get an answer for that...that's harder than coding.
3) back to the original premise of this thread they made: After the 2.0 fixes are done, are they planning on adding ANYTHING ELSE before 3.0? is there anything else we don't know about that will further push back the release of 3.0? Notice I did not ask for details of what it is? just IF IT EXISTS.
not getting an answer for that either.

I am getting a lot of personal attacks that ignore what I have actually asked. Apparently the repetition did not work...you all seem to have just seen what you wanted to see. almost like this is just a fan club.

What does having information about a schedule or delays do for you? Say they communicated to you in a perfect fashion with real-time data on development progress, now what? The game is playable and has been playable, so it's not like you require this information to play the game and have fun. If it's so you can schedule time off from your job to play, is it worth harassing a forum over it? What purpose is there other than standing around angrily tapping your shoes and glaring at your watch?

1) Game development doesn't have cut and dry standards for time/progress, that's why even estimates are frowned upon. Being more punctual in communicating delays matters when a train is late or it's something vital. A long-term entertainment project made with a lot of variables and inconsistencies is not vital. I think it's incredibly arrogant to be upset enough to make it your whole reason for posting over several weeks. The game has been perfectly playable and the current amount of communication is more than enough for any normal person. If they went so far as to send you weekly progress reports, it would only serve to pamper your ego and accomplish literally nothing else.

2) Whoops they made a mistake. They didn't ask their local gypsy to peer into the future and plan accordingly. There's your answer. They thought it was possible but it wasn't. If they set a more "reasonable" time-frame people would harass them for that just as much. There's also the fact that they decided to work on extra things due to community feedback but i'm sure you'll gloss over that.

3) So you want a Yes or No. Yes there's more before, or No there's not more before 3.0. If it's yes, then what? Oh no 3.0 is delayed, now you can be angry and justified? If No, then you carry on spamming over the same topic for a few more weeks? What do you hope to accomplish?

I love and play this game more than most people, yet i've never once have gotten upset over development time, delays, missed dates or promises. Sitting around posting about this crap for weeks is crazy. I'll never understand people like you. Please get a new shtick.

more angry fan nonsense...feel good about your pile on speech?

They sold the game to console with aggressively overly optimistic road map DATES. that sure, you guys keep saying they should not have given dates. cool cool. How does that change the reality that they did do that with the relaunch to console? @meganoth bull■■■■ answer that it was JUST possible mathmatically IF EVERYTHING WENT PERFECTLY...love to know how he "calculated" that.
I think it's a little more Fair to say that they HAD TO put dates on it to get it back on the console platforms... and realistic had nothing to do with their calculations. I don't think that was a "whoops". "Whoops" was biome gating and no storms as people thought the name had implied.

look it is fair to say that you guys don't care how long TFP take or what was deceptive. to say that no one else can? GFY
to get hostile because questioning them it makes you uncomfortable? again GFY.

HammerD, while some of your points are legit, like having better communication from the Pimps, you really are overreacting bruh.

Come on, why can't you just play the game and have some fun while you wait for things to get fixed? Why so hostile, it's just not warranted. It's not worth getting that upset over.

That wasn't angry. That was calmly stating the truth. You don't like it, so you go on the offense, calling people names, everyone you disagree with is a brainless fanboy. And you annoy everyone with it. From there you actually would deserve toxic responses; you're getting quite a mild treatment here from everyone.

Good job, fanboys ;)
seeing things bud

look again...didn't say fan boy or fan girl...I said fan...didn't know that's a trigger word now.

giving me a long list of opinions without addressing what I said...is not an "not angry" vibe...imo.

because of the gaslighting...the non responses...the general air of denialism. that ■■■■ gets my goat. Service life ruined me I guess...I am used to people who take responsibility.

why am I not playing...because 2.0 sucked ■■■ imo, but the fixes would actually be fixes if implemented the way they have been described. I am waiting for that. that's my choice. If you look outside of this forum you'd see I am not alone. I uninstalled...because it will probably be another 3-6 months before they even get THAT done.
I really do not like the how this game has been managed...I do not like the underhanded way this site is run...this is not my happy place.

It comes from a method where one tries to find upper and lower bounds of functions or values. For example some physical constants can not be easily measured directly but their lower or higher bound can be evaluated. Example is the neutrino where we know that its mass (if it has any) is lower than some very very small value.

Naturally in this case the lower value is still a guess, I estimated that a minimal possible feature would be available very fast, which is possible due to having some knowledge in modding the game. In other words I can assess what time I would probably need if I modded the game to have similar features. The rest is logic: If all values greater than B are true and A>B then A is true.

I just wanted to show it is possible that they could have believed the dates were possible. It is no proof that they did believe them. Its value is surely very limited. It only shows that your argument that the dates were impossible to keep is not valid.

What we also should keep im mind is that TFP is not one person, it is a group. Some of the developers may have had doubts about the dates or thought the way they developed until then was just right. same as many here in the forum think it is to our advantage how they do it. While others thought it a good idea to change how TFP moves on and set dates on the premise that they would work on the promised features and ONLY the promised features.

A small game developer is not a military organisation, methods are usually not forced on people and if a large subset of developers don't like something or can't adapt to it it simply doesn't go that way.

Wait, you actually played it?
Yes, I actually played it. Do you think I bought this game a second time just to yell at TFP? I could do that without buying it. I like the concept, I like the amount of hours of potential it has....that just doesn't out weigh how much I detest the bad management. I will also add that YOU yourself have added to my disdain.

Ah, then leave.

Or stay. Always amusing to see a supposedly grown man make an absolute ■■■ of himself by throwing a hissy fit over something as trivial as game developers not being informative enough -- and hold tightly -- miss launch deadlines.
just keep denying reality bud. They launched the game back to console with dates. they are not just a few weeks behind...that would be unreasonable. nope, they are almost a year behind on a schedule that was only 18 months long. they will be years late delivering this game. years.
IMO it looks like they needed console to buy back in so they would have the capital to finish the game...so they borrowed from Peter to pay Paul...someday.
What's getting me truly irate, is the mindless defence of that and them. You're all supposedly grown ups, but don't seem to understand that grown ups CAN and SHOULD keep each other accountable. You've grown accustomed to not bothering. imo

all that to say...it was a trust me bro? Just bs and nothing?
sorry, you do at least try to be polite, but, you are just as big of an apologist as these guys. You just say it nicer.

Well, you can deal with the horrendous fact that a computer game developer is behind schedule in a mature way by accepting that such is life and that you were a sucker for believing in the schedule to begin with, or you can make a fool of yourself by repetitive and impotent whining and complaining on the game's internet board despite knowing it only serves to make people laugh of you or be annoyed by your disruptive and childish behavior.

Accountable? For being tooo optimistic on timelines when developing a computer game? :D get over yourself. Nah, that's all fine, only suckers would have believed the timelines to stand, anyway. I am very happy with the product, the communication, and what lies in the future. Of course I won't hold them accountable for being late, It's not like the owe me anything, I have received a fantastic game at a very low price. In fact, if you count dollars per hour of enjoyment, it's ridiculous. Get over yourself.

If doormat means I get a great game at low price, then I have no problems with it.

I meant 2.0. I know you bought the game and played 1.0 but from your postings you gave the impression that you didn't bother even playing 2.0 because you wanted to wait until the final 2.x update. But you did play 2.0 and didn't like it?

But HammerD, your reaction is way out of balance, far too extreme, unreasonable.

Yes, if the game had been in development for 10 years and all they had to show for it was a single POI, then that kind of extreme reaction might be warranted. But come on bruh, there are many more things in life to be "that" upset over. Go take it out on the Zeds! 😉
