PC What else is planned for 2.0?

yeah...it doesn't look at all like you are running away from an argument you lost
You: "I went to Chinese restaurant X, it sucked. They lied about the menu just to get customers. And the food was bad!"

Anybody: "Well i would disagree. Food on the menu was what i expected. And i really enjoyed the food. So agree to disagree".

You: "Ha! You are running away from an argument you lost"

🤦‍♂️

I used three time longer as simple math. 6 months per Major Update...a year and a half and no completed Major Update. 3x. You can chop that parsley as fine as you want, it won't change that the entire length of the road map, will have passed, With no completed Major Update. Yes, some of that has been spent fixing 2.0 but even at slightly more than double the time they estimated, I still feel i am not out of line to expect better communication.

YOU keep saying that my motivation is just to make a claim, that the length of the delay is longer, to strengthen my anger?
Crossplay was something that THEY said over and over that they could do. That it was easy. and then they didn't apply for it...because they lost track of time. because that is a pattern of theirs. Bad time management and getting sidetracked. Remember... THEY let us argue about which platform was denying the process when they knew they had not even applied. When they knew that console gamers were waiting eagerly for it.
My motivation is not as simplistic as you want to characterise it....but. I do get WHY you want to discredit me.

3.0 will be a delayed a year? thanks, but...I already know that my calendar works. what I was getting at was will TFP meet the 6 months they gave themselves to do it? will that part happen in the time they originally said they could do it? was 2.0 a hiccup or the norm. at two time longer it's another 2ish years...3x is 3 and a bit more years to finish the game.

They sold this with a tight schedule and then just went back to wandering around like nothing had changed. I'm being told to just relax...it will take as long as it takes, they do not need to change or communicate, but, I see that as an excuse to just not admit that I am right about what my last ban was for.
THEY DID NOT NEED TO USE OVERLY OPTIMISTIC DATES TO SELL THIS TO CONSOLE
they could have just been honest and let US decide if we wanted to give them more money to finish their game in 3-5 years
some would, some wouldn't, but, no one would have any right, to be irate, about anything right now, would they?
@Roland you did not engage with this...you said you understood my arguments and agree to disagree, but, we both know that was just a way to bail out. @theFlu had it right...there are no winners here. Just reality unacknowledged because a cheerleader is disguised as a "moderator".

Seriously, most of us have engaged with your posts, post after post. Declaring yourself victor because you outran the patience of other posters is simply childish, sorry to say. Like a kid having won a "yes" "no" "yes" "no" argument by saying the last "no". I also get reminded of the Monty Python sketch "argument clinic"

And, by the way, there are endless occasions where you have not engaged with arguments in our posts. Understandable because there are a lot more posts arguing against you, you can't answer to any point they make. But on the other hand you posted the same arguments so much that neither can we engage in every point again and again, especially since there is no point in doing so at this time. Everything to be said has been said, nobody moved their opinion. Thats it.

I feel like at this point we should all pitch in and send him what paid for the game. Hammer says that he feels slighted and lied to so that he would purchase the game on console. If we did that and they promised to vacate then I have no issue chipping in to pay the Troll Toll.

"developing is hard" and "all dates subject to change" really are not sufficient explanations for being this far behind.
I have asked repeatedly if there is ANYTHING ELSE that will further delay them starting to work on bandits again...can't even get a straight answer about that.
The devs can say they internally discuss the merits of bring back features that were dropped because they THINK they can rework them in a reasonable time (which does bloat the length of time it takes to do updates), but, you'll ignore my example about the ■■■■ ups involving console dedicated servers, like it didn't happen. WEAK BULL■■■■. then i am told I am just wrong to say that the tight schedule was dishonest? I get told just relax...let it happen. don't worry about the deadlines. I did not buy back in for that bull■■■■.
Faatal has said that he would be getting back to work on Bandits after he finishes buttoning up 2.0...so why you guys ■■■■ting on Grandpa for pointing that out? Roland IS out there talking up "rudimentary" bandits...and how well they are playing...when it is pretty obvious that those are the old bandits STILL WAITING TO BE WORKED ON. he's falsely hyping people up for something that will not becoming any time soon. Do you think they will be done within the 6 months time frame they gave themselves? how about 4.0? think the entire game will be done in a year? that they can get back on track? or is it as I said. just business as usual, a major update every year to year and a half? I asked if 2.0 was a hiccup or the norm...and you guys don't wan't to engage with that. It is dishonest to pretend I have been getting legitimate answers for all of my question.

The big problem is, that you think you are entitled to answers to your "questions". We all know that. You are not. And you are not getting them. You should realize that by now. But you actually think repeating the same thing over and over and over again will change that. It wont. Really it wont. I said that it earlier. You can't win. You just can't accept it. You problem.

is this a forum or a fan club?
forums are for getting answers, so In my opinion it is a fan club too embarrassed to admit it is JUST a fan club.
You guys keep saying my questions are making YOU miserable, making the forum no fun for YOU. sounds like a YOU problem to me.
answer the content of the posts or just keep on with the ad hominems...one says more than the other.

The answer is, "TFP aren't willing to make predictions."
You've gotten the answer a hundred times over.
1) keep pretending that is what I am doing...demanding dates...and not the reality that I am asking them to do better at keeping us apprised of progress. You can't even say I have been asking for the specifics of the content. just asking them to do better at communicating out the delays.
2) yes. I keep getting an answer to something I have not been asking for. I keep being told development is hard...cool...so why did they set such aggressively optimistic dates on the road map? nope not gonna get an answer for that...that's harder than coding.
3) back to the original premise of this thread they made: After the 2.0 fixes are done, are they planning on adding ANYTHING ELSE before 3.0? is there anything else we don't know about that will further push back the release of 3.0? Notice I did not ask for details of what it is? just IF IT EXISTS.
not getting an answer for that either.

I am getting a lot of personal attacks that ignore what I have actually asked. Apparently the repetition did not work...you all seem to have just seen what you wanted to see. almost like this is just a fan club.

so why did they set such aggressively optimistic dates on the road map?
Had they asked me, I'd have told them not to...

You realize that your "is something going to delay 3.0 further", is just another phrasing of "Are we there yet?", quite literally. That's the only info you could derive from what you ask, a guess on the schedule. They're not giving those. Yes, it's a "different" question, but it would offer us nothing.

Plus, trust me, you won't want to play 3.0; they need all the time they can get :D

Are forums garantueed to produce answers to all questions, otherwise they are a fan club? Woow. Then I have never witnessed a forum, only fan clubs.

@HammerDano

Just a quick comment, as an FYI, from a project management perspective, which I am well versed IMnsHO. You set a goal, if you cannot meet that goal, you have to reestablish the target.

Now, depending on when a team realizes that the goal cannot be met, and then is actually communicated can be a point of negotiation, in non gaming development projects. So, a customer can then assert pressure monetarily. Which is the ultimate trump card. Now that card can slice both ways. However such is not the case in gaming, specially early release.

Now, you can either accept this and /shrugs, or burn your throat out screaming. You already bought your game. You lost your leverage.

It is what it is.

1) TFP communicates as much as they are willing. Rick recently posted a progress update on the new model for the Plague Spitter. Faatal let us know that 2.5 wouldn't be coming until December. They don't owe us the details of why that is the reality. Details like that are company business. You've asked for greater detail about the reasons and TFP is unwilling to answer.

2) Why did they set the target dates as they did? They were goals they hoped to reach. As Meganoth stated, mathematically speaking it was possible provided nothing came up that would cause delays which they acknowledged when they gave the dates. Hammer wants to assign malicious intent and doesn't trust or accept any other possible explanation except the one he has decided is the reality. 2.0 was delayed by 7 months. If the community had been accepting of what they offered for 2.0 then they would already be working on 3.0 at this point but now we have a community feedback update they are doing instead. It isn't listed on the original roadmap but it what they decided to do rather than ignore the complaints and keep moving forward. This very circumstance was nothing they could have predicted when they gave the dates. They communicated that this side quest they are on now would delay the main quest.

3) TFP is unwilling to predict whether there will be any other content added that may delay 3.0 further. Period. Faatal stated that there are some things that could be added to a future 2.x update or be pushed back to 3.0. That is the answer: They don't know yet whether they will spend more time on 2.x or kick some things back to 3.0 at this point and they are unwilling to give the reasons why and the details of which features may or may not make it-- at least at this time.

Now we all know that Hammer is unlikely to accept these answers but at least they are given for the benefit of anyone who has been wondering. Again, I am not going to argue these points with him. If he wants to discuss why these answers aren't good enough, he is welcome to do so as is anyone else who is dissatisfied.
