Linear gameplay

Would be really nice if the storm/biomes update was given another look. It takes a sandbox game and forces it down a linear path. Having to do tasks for biomes in a specific order is anti 7d2d. The storms look really good but being forced into what will be repetitive gameplay in each playthrough is very discouraging. Replacing the biome badges with loot in game to survive these storms (warm clothes, rad suit, cold drinks in the desert etc) would be a much more enjoyable gameplay loop. They dont need to be easy to obtain but having to start in the forest and then my only option is to head to the burnt forest for my magical biome badge doesnt make sense in a sandbox.

They're removing the biome restrictions, last I heard. I'd prefer a gear-based system to those icons and magical meals/drinks myself. The more arcadey it gets, the less I like it. They're just giving the smoothies a facelift, but there would be complaints galore about having to switch out gear. Personally, I don't think that as much an issue as switching out gear for different tasks, e.g. mining and farming. So, I tend not to do it, but that's just me.

They've already redone biomes and are updating storms. I think where the are at once 2.4 hits is enough. They'll never make everyone happy with them and we don't need to keep redoing them over and over and over again. If it tedious or boring, you can disable one or the other or both. Chances are that I'll do that myself for the reasons you mention. But I don't want to stay stuck in this standstill we're at right now, trying to please people by redoing stuff repeatedly just to make one group happy while making another unhappy and then flipping back and forth. Let's get the game completed and focus on the next game.
