PC V2.0 Storms Brewing Dev Diary

@DED-EFIM has very strict rules on the server. It prohibits helping newbies. So even equipment cannot be transferred to another player.
To each their own. I personally don't understand the desire to force people to play a certain way. It's one thing to not allow cheating or whatever, but if it's a normal way to play (i.e. co-op), not allowing it doesn't make sense to me. But it doesn't matter. People will either be okay with a server's rules and play on it or they won't. It doesn't matter to me what other people do with the game since it doesn't impact me at all.

would it be too much to ask that it be given the right calibre? lol
It's not a hill I wish to die on, but, why is it not a .44 like the old cowboy guns? idk
I learned that some lever actions can be in a long rifle round like 30.30 But agreed it should be 44 but if it was then it would/should be classed as a carbine

1000% yes! We need more guns that use the .44 ammo type. I would be happy to just mod myself (and likely will for my next playthrough) but I would be happy to see this change in vanilla.
I can think of a few guns that could be 44
Danagers
Magnums
Deagle
Mares leg lever action
Lever action Rifle/carbine
Simi auto 44 Rifle/carbine

I once owned a lever action .30-30. I would have said that was more modern than a .44 lever action, but a little googling discovers there are still .44 lever action rifles being made that are even rigged for .44 magnum ammo.

On the gamey side of things, I'm okay with there only being a few ammo types as that has an effect on inventory space, but the lever action rifle being a .44 wouldn't add any ammo types.

Weird idea, what if a weapon mod let you change the weapon's ammo type? Yeh, it defies reality, but would it be an acceptable game thing?

Not that weird at all. it would just be a caliber change. that's something that can be done. But the way the mod system works, it would only increase damage, and never decrease it. So in this particular case i don't know if it makes sense to say a 44 does more damage than the 7.62.

With the latest 7 Days to Die activities in the Steam Database (SteamDB) of the last 2 days, I was sure that we would get a new 2.3 Experimental build today.

I guess I was wrong. 😥 @faatal where are you?

I mean, it's not like bandits were due to be released several years ago or anything..
Can you give me some more background about this? I've seen this bandied about on reddit frequently as of late, but no one's ever really offered anything to back that up (it seems like they're mostly just repeating something they 'heard' from someone else). Did they actually have bandits planned as firmly as they now have them planned for 3.0?

I still own one, a model 1894 chambered for .30-30 that I inherited. Lever guns aren't really my thing, but .357 magnum lever guns are still *very* popular today and yeah, .44 mag rifles are still being made.

Not weird at all. Many, many guns can very easily be rechambered for different ammo types. Sometimes with just a simple barrel swap. Guns with split upper/lower receivers (such as AR15's) even allow drop-in swaps between different calibers.

lever action is a mid tier weapon, so I am not advocating that it get a damage buff, .44 was a common round for pistols and rifles...good for medium size game. If they changed it...great...if they don't...not the end of the world. Just makes sense...and gives the rifles a .44 variant. A Tommy Gun for Automatics wouldn't be the worst idea either. But not worth any delays that for sure.
