PC V2.0 Storms Brewing Dev Diary

I'm getting a stutter after looting any container going in and out of it , is anyone getting this? I tried everything but i keep getting it. At the start of the game it doesn't happen only after a few times looting.
That is the Unity Engine Garbage Collection. Basically the game engine freeing up resources that are no longer in use. It has to happen at some point semi regularly or your computer runs out of resources.

TheFunPimps decided that instead of having Garbage Collection happen on a timer so it suddenly happened during combat to have it happen when you open your inventory because that is usually a safer for it to happen.

I wish it went back to the timer. In p2p it seems to kick in when ever ANYONE opens a chest which makes sorting loot an exercise in slideshows.

I have 20+ players playing on my servers, and we (the administration) don't want new players to ignore the biome progression and immediately choose the wasteland, etc., and if these icons can be put on from the very beginning, then the point of passing the biomes is lost, They can be obtained from other players

View attachment 36370 at the moment, but that's not enough, there was a wipe recently and the statistics were reset
You are looking at it from your preference for how people play the game. What if someone wants to play the game with a friend who is already doing stuff in the wasteland or some other biome? Tell them they can't join their friend or that their friend has to go back through and progress from the forest all the way to the wasteland as their friend slowly completes the challenges? That isn't a good option for a lot of players. It is better to allow giving the badges to others when this is a game designed for co-op. If you want different rules on a server, that is where mods come in. They should never have made it so you can't give the badges to a player.

Allowing you to complete them in any order is also a good thing, allowing players to complete the badge for the biome they want to be in at any time.

Scenario:
"Come play on this server with me. It is a fun server. Btw, you will need to spend an hour competing all the badges because I am playing in the wasteland. I can give you all the equipment you need, but you still have to spend time doing that."

"Umm.... No, I don't want to spend time doing that."

I would disgree. Helping his friend do the challenges is one of the things that people do in co-op to feel good.

Anyone played the new update yet? What's your thoughts? I haven't got a chance to check it out yet......■■■■ work 🤬😡🤬😡🤬

I didn't get anywhere but the forest before the update fixing storms and stuff came out, but it feels pretty good. Still struggling with food and water, but I do have three dew collectors now, two with mods. Just upgraded all my stone tools/pipe weapons to iron ones, finally built a workbench, etc.

I don't play with hordes though, so I couldn't tell you about that. Questing still wasn't fixed ( two tier one POIs in the forest town, so I had to do buried supplies for the 8 remaining quests before it upgraded ), but now that I'm in tier 2 POIs, they're aplenty.

Encountered for the first time a wandering sleeper dog too, that was terrifying. "Hm. Why do I hear chains jingling in this completely empty area ? " . . . didn't even have time to process before it was biting me in the ■■■ 😭

also, to stay on topic and everything. the change to environmental damage is good. having it stop / pause when you're inside a building rules, i won't lie. it definitely saved my life more than once!!

This update is pretty sweet. I do like the changes they made.

Agree with what is said above, they do need more guns that shoot the .44 caliber.

I tried the Izzy gun pack during 1.0 but for some reason it didn't take.

The green ones bigger backpack (highly recommend) and the zombie type pack did, just not the gun pack.
I'm sure I did something wrong but I don't know.

Haven't tried any of these mods for 2.0.

Rick & Joel are cracking that whip, making poor @faatal work his rear off.
Lots more changes coming right...
My man just wants to get these bandits out 🪖
I don't think that @faatal is working on bandits right now... That's for 3.0 anyways. But he's definitely working on all the changes specified in the 2.0 Town Hall stream, plus the rest of the stuff that will be in 2.x (whichever version it goes to... 2.3, 2.4+++).
That's his priority and he already mentioned that the work on bandits will resume wants all the V2.x stuff is finished.

I agree that he must be very busy... But then again, he's always very busy! 😁

@DED-EFIM has very strict rules on the server. It prohibits helping newbies. So even equipment cannot be transferred to another player.
