PC V2.0 Storms Brewing Dev Diary

It feels like it's been going on for weeks...

7 years and counting, bare minimum. :P

Can we all please stop with this current back and forth that's been going on for almost a day now and move on?

How is 2.0 fairing for you? Are you in the middle of a current playthrough? Care to share stories? <3

Niet voor iedereen. De werking zal sterk afhangen van de omvang en dat kan weer leiden tot prestatievermindering. Dus compleet is volledig subjectief.

But the issue isn't that you asked for better communication, it that you demanded it. I would love better communication from the devs, but what they tell us is their prerogative. We purchased their product and spent anywhere from $10 to $50 on it. This doesn't give us the right to run their company. Nor are we entitled to insider information, special consideration or even to dictate their hiring practices.

Would the forums be happy if they hired a Communications Manager or Social Media Manager or some similar way for them to apprise us on a regular basis of what's happening internally on the game? Definitely. But do we, as customers, have any right to demand this or any other changes to the way they've run their company for the past decade? No.

We are lucky to have so many of the devs and staff who post here regularly. If enough of us start to act like entitled children, demanding things and accusing devs of not being communicative, we'll probably just see fewer posts from them as they get fed up, like Madmole did a couple years ago. He used to post here regularly but left for reasons we may never know for sure, but I assume that he just got tired of the toxicity of these forums.

It's a shame that Madmole left. I am curious though, if this is the reason behind it, why he's been posting more frequently on the subreddit as of late? I've been a fly on the wall on the forums for years, and unless I'm mistaken (maybe this place was more toxic before and I didn't take notice, idk), the current state of the subreddit is 100x more negative with 100x more groundhog day behaviour post wise than this place currently is...

I used to participate on the subreddit a lot. While imo people are allowed to vent, even if it's not the most constructive form of communication out there, it's a shame that 95% of top posts there nowadays are about glass jars and why the game supposedly sucks, and that impressive build showcases, funny moments in-game, etc. are barely posted or get any traction nowadays.

Probably because I kept spamming him but I hope he comes back

I'm not sure exactly why madmole left either. I've been on these forums since 2016.
Now in the beginning, I was always on the console section, as that's what I played.
Anytime a console player would post on here we would instantly get attacked by a few because we were console players.

I wouldn't say it was "toxic" exactly, just a few A'holes.

Even then I never got the impression madmole was harassed or attacked, not enough to stop coming to the forums. Even when he was given 💩, he definitely gave it right back.

Anyhow, my opinion on that matter. I don't discriminate against any player, console or PC. We are all welcome in my opinion!

Very good! Loving it so far ^^

Awesome! Love to hear it, dear! <3 Likewise! ^-^ I just started a new run. I found a cooking pot in a backpack almost immediately after spawning in, and the trader was selling electric fence posts, a generator bank, and a wire tool on the third day, so I snagged those right up. The first horde night will be an absolute breeze. <3

The easiest win that the dev team could do is to simply add crafting points when you lvl up to lvl up crafting manually and make magazines more rare.

It’s safe and not overly creative. That has been my solution back then when the magazines weren’t out yet and I standby it.

Magazine can be a good background item to find but not the only way to progress in crafting.
