Serious gameplay multiplayer issue on ps5.

My son and I have been playing since the legacy game. Now if you create a world the joining party has to save the map?

My son cleared all 1.4 files
I created an 8k random genworld and invited him.
He downloaded the map up to about 70-80% and game kicked him off.
Basically after 7-8 attempts we stopped trying. Console multiplayer on Ps5 needs some guidance.

Yes. If you aren't using a pregen map or Navesgane map, which come with the game, the client has to download the map. If you are doing a random gen map, you *should* be able to generate the same map using the exact same settings on both consoles and then you won't need to download it. I can't say with certainty that works, but it should.

If it's failing every download at the same point, I'd suggest checking the free space available. They might need to get rid of a save/map before downloading.

Is there a way to send him the map through ps plus or does this have to be downloaded during my gameplay where I’m stuck in the world by myself.

Also if I’m currently playing does it make changes to the world map and cause issues because as im playing I’m interacting with the environment? Cutting down trees etc

It would depend if you have a way on the console to place files in a specific folder and can get them in the correct location. But try just doing what I suggested and have them generate the same map (same see and map name and parameters). It should work.

The map itself doesn't change. Only your save changes.

I’ve been having the same issue

Try what I suggested. Generate the world on the other console(s) that are having trouble downloading the map. As long as everything is exactly the same (seed, name, parameters), it should be the same map and should not require downloading. Other than that, verify that there is enough space available for the map to download. If neither of those helps, you should post in the Game Support forum and see if someone can diagnose the problem, or else use the report bug option in the game on the console that is unable to download the map.

I don't know about pregen maps, but me and my wife play effortlessly on our ps5's in random gen maps. I host and she never has any issues joining me in our 2.0 session.

We just tried that and still no luck I get up to about 80% then sends me back to main menu we can join eachother when it’s on the base map just not random gen world

80% of what? Is it still trying to send the world? It shouldn't if you have the same world (that's why pregen doesn't download).

There is another aspect here. Your upload and download speeds on both ends. You need a minimum of 50megs up and down for things to work adequately. If you are only pulling 2megs on the upload or you are otherwise clogging the internet pipelines pulling the data down to the client, that will cause it to crap out and disconnect at some point through the connection process.

Probably why my wife never has any issues with connecting to my sessions, my internet is a cable internet 1gb download and 50mb upload.

I can download the same seed and it does nothing for us , it still try’s to download world when we join eachother
Same seed, same name, same exact settings? Everything would need to be exactly the same. And if either was PC, the same custom POI on each system. If it still doesn't work, that would surprise me because I've shared maps before and didn't have to do the download.

Data sending is capped at 1300KiB, which is roughly equivalent to 10Mbps.

I use gtx gaming server 12$ a month for pregen 8k. I follow the rules for crossplay in XML. It performs outstanding besides the Fun Pimps not optimizing the game so well. I mean zombies attacking random objects when I'm right in front of them is a insult to me. Maybe they are scared of me. Maybe I'm scared of me.

That is a side-effect of the rage mode mechanic. It's pretty stupid sometimes.
Did you mean destruction mode or rage mode? Rage mode just makes them run at you when they get damaged. Destruction mode makes them forget pathways and just break things until they get damaged and suddenly remember again. They can go into rage mode any time but I thought destruction mode only happened during blood moons but maybe that's wrong? Sometimes during POI explorations I see zombies ignore me to hit a wall or the floor and sometimes they decide to follow some weird roundabout pathway to come get me instead of just walking through the doorway or hallway between us--especially if there is an open window next to them. On clear quests I've watched a zombie climb out a window and then watched its red dot on my compass move around outside going around and back in and up through the POI to come get me when it could have just taken 5 steps directly towards me. Funny stuff.

That is what I initially thought too, but I've seen too many times where I hit a zed at distance and they just go ham on the nearest tree. I thought destruction mode was a sub-process of rage mode as an effect. Doesn't happen always, but does happen sometimes.
