PC V2.0 Storms Brewing Dev Diary

Well, people always say they want more of a challenge. Can't complain when they finally give you one. Haha.

I personally think it would be cool to see stuns happen a bit more often. They used to be pretty common and almost always lead to death but have been pretty nerfed the last several alphas it feels like. You'd almost have to be trying to get stunned in the current game.

I don't know, but our audio dev is always doing something.
I hope there are some new sounds for the new biome stuff. The current rain/thunderstorm sounds are amazing.

Try playing on insane nightmare.
I've lost count of the times I've had more than one stun back to back, lasting 8 seconds of being unable to barely move, I've lost count of how many times I've died to a single stun because I can barely move for 4 seconds. Stuns are insanely OP. I'd much rather a broken leg because I can at least treat it and still jump.

Speaking of new sounds, will the cop or tourist zombies ever get a different sound?
The sound for them is appropriate for that type, just be nice if one of them had a different sound so you would know who you were dealing with before seeing them.

I mean, isn't that the point of higher difficulties? To make the game harder? If I played on those difficulties I wouldn't complain about things being hard. You could also pop painkillers to be immune to stuns, no?

Sure, but you have to use them before combat (full health), or mid combat before you get stunned, they don't protect for long (3 minutes), plus you can't use anymore painkillers until the previous one expires, and they drain your water rapidly. They're not like vitamins where you can use 3 at once for 36-minute immunity to fatigue and infection.
Beer is easier to use, but they're locked behind the chemistry station and best used once the beer book is read.

I try to rush natural stun immunity ASAP, and with the new armour it's a lot easier thanks to the enforcer chest and 3 of the helmets.

I'm just glad stuns aren't as common as they used to be in A15 with 50% chance to get stunned.
