I didn't know that they reduced fire rate, which is kinda annoying cause it doesn't let on this at all on the description or the ingame stats on the ammo itself, only on the turret provided you switch to that ammo, which was a real bummer.
I did some number crunching and don't actually see a point in using this at all, the bullets do 11.8 damage per shot, whereas the shells do 2.1 per pellet but across 8 pellets which translates to 16.8 damage per shot, so 42.37% more.
However the RPM goes from 105.6 to 75 which is 28.98% less, which leads to the DPS being 1.12% higher, yes, that's obviously extremely negligible, especially for the price of making the ammo being that it goes from costing 3 lead, to 6 lead and 0.2 clay (1 clay in a furnace). Which itself also removes any sorta point of "Ammo efficiency" since it takes over double the resources to make, and that's not including the time being taken to make it across the forge + workbench and the fuel used for the forge.
So, it's got 1% more DPS, less efficiency, less range, and uses extra fuel and time to make. Is there any reason to use this, like, at all?
