Hello,
I wanted to share some thoughts based on my experience playing since early Alpha 4 or 6. I fondly remember the days when Horde Night occurred every night. Over the years, I’ve tried many overhauls and while they feature some interesting and unique zombies, the game tends to lose its challenge once players unlock steel and power.
I do not have specific ideas myself, but I believe that with the creativity of the community, we can find ways to make days 100 and beyond more engaging and challenging.
One observation I've made is that late-game challenges for Horde Nights seem to be overlooked, while early game difficulty mods primarily focus on the initial stages of the game, neglecting the mid to late game. Once players reach the steel and power stages, the sense of progression diminishes.
Though we have numerous overhaul mods that introduce various types of zombies—such as elemental and status effect variants—these additions mainly increase the number of zombies without fundamentally altering the late-game experience.
Facing swarms of standard zombies and Demo zombies can become monotonous. There’s a need for more diversity and complexity in the challenges presented. Introducing unique, game-native bosses or mutated zombies with special abilities could evoke a thrilling, Resident Evil-like atmosphere, creating a situation where even the most fortified bases face unprecedented challenges that go beyond just feral and radiated zombies.
Thank you for considering these thoughts. I’m hopeful we can collectively enhance the game for all players.
