PC Zombies No Longer Dropping Loot?

If you read the thread you would know quests is not the only issue. You can compare a no repetitive mission trader run to someone who only does the repetitive missions & they will level faster then you do.
Correct someone who explores POIs using the quest feature will get more rewards than the person who explores POIs without the quest feature. Seems to be a pretty standard system in the RPGs I’ve played that have the ability to either quest or free roam locations.

So what exactly is your issue with quests? The fact that someone is leveling faster than you? People are leveling faster than me, I’m at default experience gain, and I don’t see that as a game issue. Do you feel you are under leveled for the things you want to do by not doing quests? I do 2-4 quests a week, and 4 is rare, and don’t feel like I need to do more to keep progressing at the pace I need to enjoy the game. The quest system is a completely optional add-on in my play through, mostly for some dukes and infested cache, so why is it such an issue in yours? What would you fix about it?

What is a "no repetitive mission trader run"?
I am going on an assumption by his post that it means a whole playthrough where you don't do any missions from the trader at all just rely on the 7 days untouched area that resets that cell so you can reloot the area & compare that to someone who just does missions back to back non-stop this would be a comparison test to see which gets exp faster.

Ah, ok. IMHO with the nerf of the rewards the gap isn't that big anymore in SP. A single player can only have one quest which means he has to go back and return each time he does a quest. In early game I have seen maps where that meant 100-300 meters generally but also maps where it started out with 400 and quickly got to 600m quests. On foot a major time- and food-waster.

But even if you level a bit faster, progression is not only in levels. The zombies will get harder with level, but your equipment will get stronger with looting. The game may be actually easier if you only loot and not do quests as you have more chance to get better equipment and building mats before zombies get worse. If it weren't for the 6-pack magazine rewards I would even say your crafting progression would surely be faster with pure looting as well.

Trader-loops for co-op groups probably is still a much faster progression because they simply can have x quests going at the same time, for single player I am not so sure there is a large gap.

Ok, how is that still an issue? turn up xp gain in settings to compensate.
