Windows Zombie Kill Challenges are grayed out

I have been playing this game for more than a decade. Love it! Have never seen a glitch of this type. NONE of the zombie kill challenges are active (I am not playing in creative mode, although I did give myself a few items after getting smoked a few days ago after restarting a new game, did not want to spend the time replaying). In the challenges tab in the advanced sub tab all the kill challenges are grayed out. Also in all of the biome challenges, the "kill zombies (while in the biome)" are greyed out which will prevent me from attaining the biome specific gear. As well the "survive X number of hordes" achievements are also greyed out. I am currently playing with only a few of the sandbox variables set to something other than the default. I would love to be told this is an easy fix and I am a dolt for not knowing the answer. Thanks in advance for any and all help. Dirk

Got pics of what you're seeing? You did complete the first row tutorial challenges, right? The rest don't unlock till you do.

Can you post your sandbox code or show a screenshot of your sandbox options summary (where it shows everything you have changed)?
