Do zombies have more health on Higher difficulty settings. For example game difficulty and zombie difficulty settings. Setting them for both the game and zombies to nightmare. Would love a dev to respond please

No need for a developer to respond. The answer is already in the Wiki and has been there for years.

Actual hp values do not change, but relative damage does which basically has the same effect as increasing HP.

Increasing difficulty just makes zombies hit you harder, and you to hit them weaker. It also increases the chance for them to enter rage mode.
It has zero bearing on difficulty otherwise, so it is a very misunderstood mechanic.

Well the reason I asked was there are many people on discord and other places that showed it to be true. That difficulty and zombie diff do effect it. Heck even google says it and the AI says it does that's why I wanted a dev response

Yes, most people are wrong, about most things. Confidently so.
With this one, though, you can it test yourself.
Start a game at default settings,
F1: dm
F1: cm
numpad * to turn off AI
F6: spawn a few zeds, witness and record their health
Hit them with something, record the damage you do, for a couple swings.
Start another game with harder difficulty, repeat.

What you will find is: the zeds spawn with random health, but difficulty doesn't change it. You will do less damage on higher difficulties.
I have tested it. (plenty). But I might also be confidently wrong ;)

It seems like they have more HP because you do less damage in higher difficulties. We usually play with healthbars (via mod and i don´t like it, but i am the only one. Meh) and they don´t change with difficulty. Now that might have changed in 2.0 but i didn´t see anything about that in the patch notes.

And you can not trust AI blindly. Gemini, the one from google that shows up on top of search results is particularly bad and downright makes things up, like that The Boys season 5 was released 2024.

It doesn't change the actual HP value for the zed. Just the "apparent" health.

Say you are on Nomad. A zombie has 1000hp.
You hit a zombie for 200 points of damage, and it takes five hits to kill them.

Now you play on the default setting of Adventurer. A zombie still has 1000hp.
You hit a zombie for 150% damage now. That means your previous hit now does 300 points of damage, so you kill the zombie in four hits.

Or we go the other way, and play on Warrior. A zombie still has 1000hp.
You hit a zombie for 83% damage now. That means your hits do 166 points of damage, so you kill the zombie in six hits.

And the same modifiers are applied in inverse for the player taking hits from zombies. You still have the same HP as a player, but their hits will do different amounts of damage based on the chosen difficulty.

AI is not to be trusted as factual. It is a good place to get a general idea about something, but you have to understand it can be very wrong. And the more people who pay about working online and give incorrect details, the wise the AI answer will be.

Let's say Reddit starts filling up with posts that say that turning off bike hazards also turns off storms. With enough posts that say that, the AI will treat that as being true and will tell you it is true even though it isn't. The more people who are wrong and post something, the worse the AI results.

As shown, you can easily test this yourself.

All clear, sir. But I might want that in non-spellchecked writing. Also "bike hazards":D
Grr! Swype has gotten so bad. It used to work great. (Original is edited)

Maybe I should have written: The more people who post things using Swype, the more confusing the world will become. 😁

Can I claim I'm just trying to break AI?
