PC Zeds immune to explosives

Is it just my random bug or is it the state of things in A17? I just hit a regular Z with an explosive bolts RIGHT IN THE FACE. It ragdolls them, but doesn't really hurt them. Same with mines - i place bunch of mines to protect myself on day 7, the Z run over them, the mine explodes, but it doesn't even tip them over. Not talking about irradiated feral nightmare, just a regular zombies, or their feral variants. You know, those guys you take down easily with a bow and arrow.

Curiously enough, car explosions seem to kill them though.

havent used any explosive bolts, but pipe bombs were pretty useless. didnt seem to cause any signifcant damage, but does seem to knock some zeds down. seem more effective as a perimeter alarm(mines) or flashbang (pipe bombs and exploding bolts) than actually killing anything. there is a perk for explosive weapons, but the lack of lethality without then hasnt convinced me to spend points to see if they ever work

I have noticed the same thing. I had a stack of Explosive Crossbow Bolts laying around and decided to try them out one Moon Night and found that they did more damage to my defenses than to even normal zombies. Direct hits to the head added great rag doll action but the AOE explosions chewed up my outer layer of barbed wire and spikes.

IMHO, I wont use them anymore.

They are not immune, its just, explosives are extremely BAD now.

Takes multiple pipe bombs to kill a single zombie.

yeah explosives are ♥♥♥♥; explosive bolts and pipebombs? just sell them. Mines? ignore them. Sadly the state of aspects of the game where things are nerfed to the point of being useless and therefore not a useful part of the game.

Welp, need to up the explosion damage and see where we go from that... Perhaps it's only a matter of some tweaking.

I hope that stuff like this was an accident..... it makes NO sense to nerf explosives to the point where they are useless. All at the same time Zombies are so strong they rip through steel like its paper.

I really hope it was just something that was overlooked with the rushed release of a17, and its fixed in 18

I think someone from TFP mentioned they rebalanced explosives for 17.3.
I hope so cause it was a saving grace relatively early in the game. I noticed it shortly after A17 came out.

I don't know. I assume tanstaafl just mixed up "17.3" with "17.2" when he read my post.
No one has actually been talking about your 17.3 post other than you.

tanstaaf, posting 2 after your comment, was commenting on the subject of the thread, not the subject of your post within the thread. I am unclear why you are fixated - immediately - on his comment being specifically about your post.

Had a horde night the other day so figured I'd try this out - had the explosive weapons perk maxed out but could barely scratch the zombies with pipe bombs. I tried a few different options for timing the throw and where it'd land, but after 10-15 bombs and only enough kills to count on one hand I called it quits. Frag rockets seemed to work alright if they bunched up, but I'll vouch explosives are a bit underwhelming ATM.

You are right, there is mention of a car explosion in the last sentence of the first post I seem to have overlooked. Thank you for the clarification

Since my post was the last fact statement (that could be called nonsense upon) before his post I assumed it could be about my post and therefore prefixed it with "If you are refering to my post...". So no thanks at all for accusing me of a fixation.
