♡ Your fav way of skills upgrade?

I tend to perk into the first levels on most things and concentrate on agility tree for the end game. I play SP so I only need to perk into cooking and LoTL once. However, I save everything when I loot (POIs have a lot of crates holding stuff outside of them early game - and even late game when I only have the motorcycle currently and doing T5 POIs).

Current playthrough, non Agility perks - Cooking, LoTL, Miner 69r, Motherload, Junk scrapping, scraping, lockpicking, loot, treasure hunter, cardio, better barter, daring adventures, workstations, mechanic

I first invest in gun skill until it's level 4.
In multiplayer, trader furnaces and the like are often already investigated, so I acquire the lockpicking skill.
Acquire self-sufficiency just before entering the burnt forest to make collecting mushrooms easier.
Once in the burnt forest, go to the bookstore and stock up on magazines.
Keep the magazines from the beginning without using them, then reset here, acquire INT Mastery 3, read the magazines, and make a Tier 3 gun.
(can get steel and weapon parts by dismantling, looting, or purchasing from traders)
After that, do whatever I like.
Since combat is so powerful that I can leave it to the Wood Spike, I can play with the above style without any problems even on Insane difficulty.

I always spend my first four points on my main attribute and the melee weapon of that attribute so that I'm sure to find plenty of magazines for that weapon. My next few points go into that weapon only so I keep getting the buff for finding those magazines. Once I feel like I'm easily killing the low level zombies I branch out to the QOL and supporting perks and the ranged weapon for my main attribute.

I put some points into Strength for early melee bonuses + mining then focus on Agility, because being able to jump higher is simply too good to pass up. Extra stealth does seem to work which is huge, clearing zombies with archery headshots from stealth is immensely satisfying compared to the scramble fighting them indoors with melee. The Agility Mastery bonuses sound very powerful too, but I haven't reached them yet.
Agility is definitely not without it's downsides, but I think overall in this game the ability to scale structures vertically quickly is very nice.

At the moment. First points in farming and raise it to 3. Then I start pumping stamina and almost everything that is in it, except for hunter and cardio. Having pumped stamina to 10, I always get in front of a dilemma where further.

If I had to pick a predilection, it'd be getting Parkour up to level 2 (and that's it), then spending points wherever depending what I chose to specialize in. In solo play, I'd always eventually put a few points into Miner 69er and Motherlode because that mining outfit isn't going to help you a whole lot and, if I'm not mistaken, doesn't help you at all with things like clay "mining" as I think (but could be mistaken) that's being treated as harvesting. At least, my stamina is always an issue while clay mining vs. all other materials in spite of said "mining" points. In solo play, I'd always sink a few points into Master Chef as well to minimize those cooking times.

All agility to begin. I found a lvl 3 hunting knife very early in the game and laid waste with it. So, I got on the stab train, eventually got a lvl 6 knife and shortly after a lvl 6 machete.
I'm one shorting most 1st, 2nd and 3rd class zombies.
Great time.

Well I find knives fast but not very safe to fight with, I mean you have to be very close to the enemy using a knife

I'm definitely the odd duck, which is why I stay out of most conversations about skills and perks.
I try to pick just the basic survival skills, and lean toward stealth. I play through the ages, staying
on stone age as long as possible. Basics Tracker all, and food until i get bacon and eggs, and bows.
All of my armor is tier 2 for the past 30 days 2 hr.

I like the pipe weapons, pipe baton, stone axe, wooden bow, and a spear for the doors, and Lucky
looter all, and 1 point in lockpick. My pipe machine I adjusted the the fire rate to be same as a pistol
no automatic that just wastes ammo. The rest of the points I save until late game, to decide what I
need to advance. The main advances for me out side of these choices is only what I can find in the world.

I find out for now that not only eggs are rare but also raw meat 🥩
If no point in tracker, just follow the chicken sounds, that means game available.
With one point it will also show them on the map.
At night, get a high hide and look around, that is when deer com out, they shimmer gray.
Hogs can be spotted in the burnt since there is little brush.

1st 4 go like this. 1 into the melee weapon of choice, 1 into miner 69er, 1 into the running 1 under endurance, and then 1 into scraping. I like getting a wrench early, the mining 1 for easier resource harvesting early on, the stamina regen while running helps me get places faster, and of course the melee weapon of choice for extra damage.

From there I build up the stat that I am focusing on, toss some points into more resource harvesting, some extra sneak attack damage, and go from there.
