Our swear filter is being weird so it’s time for some science. Come in here and swear at me. Hopefully we will figure out the issue and you can receive some much needed catharsis. If anyone has been lurking for a long time and all you’ve been waiting for is permission to unload on me, then this is your chance. We want to see if there is a glitch with first time posters for sure so don’t be shy.

Amusingly enough there is no rule agains swearing. The rule is simply that if you are going to do it then please watch your spelling so the @%$#ing filter can change your @%$# into @%$#.

Hmm... so nazi and ass are not filtered... guess, that sound about right since they can be used in different contexts.  :laugh:

Remember that I want to see if the forum is filtering properly. We already know people can misspell cuss words in order to circumvent the filter. That's why there is a rule against doing that. There was a post in which some words were spelled properly and were not filtered and it was from a first-time poster.

Suggestion: you could create a new test account and test curse words on that.

 
I registered specifically for this thread because - come on, when are you ever officially encouraged to unload at a forum?

Ok first time poster here. Lets see if this works.

I will start with the most common words like @%$# @%$# @%$# @%$# english spelling arsehole @%$# @%$#er racist @%$# bigot @%$# sucker  

There we go that all I could think of in a short space of time.

 
American swear words:  @%$#, @%$#, @%$#, @%$#er, @%$#ing, @%$#, @%$#, @%$#, jackass, @%$#, dickhead, @%$#, moron, piss off, bull@%$#, @%$#face 

British swear words:  @%$#s, rubbish, @%$#, bloody hell, shag, @%$#, @%$#, taking the piss

Aussie swear words:  bloody oath, root, get stuffed, 

There's more than that, but some consider them barely swear words, like damn, crikey, etc

I also think there should be some effort put into filtering some of the common bypass attempts too, like when they use * or _ or a number to skip a vowel or something.

I  typed "ass" and "hole" as one word and it filtered it out 

 
Hmmmm. Apparently the mobile version of the forum will not let me fix the colors :(
