Xbox X -- "continue game" is greyed out and cannot be clicked on to load and play.

Just got 1.29, deleted saves, restarted the console, synced from the cloud. No luck. The old game still not accessible.

Got patch, deleted saves locally, synced.  2 saves that were affected by the EULA problem still not accessible.  Current game playable.  This is a step in the right direction.  Before the patch every time I synced the game I got the ".. Agree to the new EULA.." and then had to start a new game.

 
Yeah unfortunately the Xbox's save system has some bugs in it that can happen when you use saves as much as we do as we've discovered. Pretty much without going into too much detail, we reverted back to their old system from the new one, which never had this issue. So we'll look into their new system on our end and get in touch with microsoft and poke them about it.

Nobody had this issue with the old system, but it is a bit slower on load/save times. Sorry about that :/. New saves should be fine now

I did noticed drastic improvement in the load and save time in 1.27. Old system is okay, as long as we can recover safely.

Yeah the system was implemented with both of xbox's versions of the save file structures being compatible with one another, so after we work out bugs (or report microsoft's bugs to them and they fix them) and deem it stable on our end, it won't affect previous saves, so that's some good news anyway.

Again sorry about this folks. Working with consoles with a giant game like this can be challenging, we try our best to protect saves though.

 
Hi all, new here, found the forum looking into to the current save issue.

I got the update a couple of hours ago (in the UK) but everything remains the same (greyed out saves and unable to start new game with the little typing bar across the 7 on the main screen). 

I've tried the deleting local saves but beyond that I am not game-tech savvy at all. I'm playing on the Xbox s. Is there something else I should have done after the update? Delete game and reinstall maybe? Or shall I just wait and see if something else gets said here/another update happens?

so uhhh ik it’s a weird question but is there a way yall can like manually do something so i can access my save file, me and my bros put so much time into it a we seriously love the game, seeing it but not being able to play on it hurts gangy please

2 questions.   we're blaming xbox for this huh? I want my 300 hour world back not a new game, is that likely?

While I have not had this latest bug and I'm sure some don't like that not all older saves lost can't be recovered it at least shows effort by the team to fix the game, Your asking questions and trying fix ideas is apriciated. 

If you made a new topic pinned to the top and just gave weekly updates on what fixes are getting worked on and when they go into submission it could cut down on the flame posts

 
So, not even trying to flame anyone. I get home and install the update. The search bar is still there. Continue game option still greyed out. Can't continue a new game. Did the devs forget to update the graphics on a deer or what am I missing.

The way I understand this is our new saves and hopefully the save we're on now are safe.  Restoring the old saves is at best 50/50 and will be sometime in the future.  Is that right? 

 
So this update has not worked? I still cannot start a new game etc

I’m still encountering the issue. 

 
If this has happened to multiple people but cannot recreate it because the game is forever stuck for us, how will this get resolved? I've had this issue for a month now and I can't play the game at all and it makes me sad. I really like the game, but I can't even play it because of this glitch.

Unfortunately we aren't pc players because then it would get fixed
