Xbox X -- "continue game" is greyed out and cannot be clicked on to load and play.

Good evening.

I attempted to "continue game" play on xbox console and the "continue game" tab is greyed out and cannot be clicked on.  Only "New game" and "join a game" is an option.  Any idea how to fix this.  I don't want to start a new game.  Just want to continue the existing game.

Thanks!

Do you mind me asking what country you live in? We're suspecting it's some EOS server that went down, not 100% sure but we've got a lot of areas to look at.

United States.  The saved game that I am trying to use has a EOS next my gamer tag in the Manage saves section.  Please help!

Just out of curiosity @Jeff Sapp, have you tried starting a new game, play it for a few minutes and then go back and see if your old save game is available again?

Yes, tried that and no luck.  I can see the saved game in the manage save files areas.  It just wont show up in the continue game tab.

If it was a compatibility issue I would think that there would be a lot of XBOX owners really @%$#ed off.  I remember opening the game to play, needing to agree with the EULA thing and then seeing the continue game tab greyed out as if no previous saves were there.  When I went to the manage saves section, I could see the save but couldn't do anything as far as loading it.

I have exactly the same issue. Cannot continue my game. If I go to New Game menu, I can see my game saved and the version number shows in green. I’ve tried to remove temporary storage, and even profile on the console, and still no luck.

Same here.

Does the save you're trying to open have a EOS next to the player in the managed saves section?
Yes, exactly. Also, my player customization is gone. I'm not sure if developers are monitoring this thread, I hope so, because i't a bummer to lose almost 200 days into the game and all my achievements.

How big is your saved game that cannot be accessed?  Mine is showing 15mb.

Also, did this happen to you right after you agreed to the EULA legal thing that popped up and would not let you continue until you agreed to it?

Yes, the size is about the same, and yes, all this happened after I accepted the EULA. My player customization and my current game were gone.

Cool.  I also created a support case a couple of times.   I have decided that if the save isn't restored that I will be demanding my money back for the purchase of this game.  I heard for several years that once console moves to this new version everything would be so much better and so much more stable and just wait until then....  I played the legacy version and lost saved files numerous times to that bug that no one could get rid of for "legal problems" and "bankruptcy"....  Well now there can't be anymore excuses... It's either put up or pay people back for a product that is sub par.
