No, because fall damage is capped at one third of the zombie’s max health, per fall.  Three or four falls will do it, if they’re deep enough.

Yeah drop bases are no longer 100% effective. I used to spend hours digging them as well.

It would be exactly as effective in killing zombies as it would be actually killing Wile E.

Used to use a drop base.  25m would take out the weak zeds, the 4 shotgun turrets would take out the rest.

It was.. messy.

In all fairness, making a pit all the way down to bedrock is not easy.  Boring, too.

Hi,

the aim of a good drop base is not to kill them by fall damage but to get a lot of Z's packed close so they're easier to explode with a few unlit pipe bombs followed by a sth to ignite the whole bunch (depending on depth either a lit pipe bomb or contact grenade or RPG for deeper holes).
