Won't me use any items

(on V.3) every item in the game that can be used says "you are not hurt" when I try to use it. Food, meds, books. I restarted the game, restarted my pc but it isn't fixing the glitch, and I really don't want to start a new world, any tips?

Thank you for reporting.
This is a known issue, and there is a potential fix for it coming in an update.
I am sorry you got the issue. Unfortunately we have not been able to find a work around for it, but you should still be able to use items from your toolbelt slot.

This happened to me as well after a crash, our fix was unfortunately starting a new map.
