Wish - Powered work stations

from what i can tell the class workbench and class poowered are incombatible,

would love it if we could make work benches that opperate of electricity insead of burning fule. (would think 5w idle power usage and 50w when in use) but lets face it if the option was there modders would make all kinds of varients on it so the "vanillia" specs could be whatever wanted, just having the ability would be nice.

It isn't a bad idea, though I'm not sure that it really offers much value other than not adding fuel.  That's a minor thing, though.  Wouldn't hurt to have the option.

But I'm mainly here to comment on the post title... "Wish - Powered Work Stations".... "Wish-powered" would be an interesting way to power them. :D

the main reason is im modding things if powered workstations were allowed it would open up things like water pump on the power grid rrather than dew collectors, currently i have one i made using gas but the power grid would be better for my ideas, cultivator/gemernator powered grow stations for underground farming ,  havign your heat map away from your base with an underground power genrator room with wires to your actual base etc, the request may seam simple and redundant for 1 extra way of powering them but it would open up soo many options to modders and diffrent play styles

I'm sure it would be possible to mod in a powered workstation.  If the powered class doesn't work and the light class (I forget the name of it) doesn't work, it may need a DLL to do it, but it should be possible.

true, however i try with all the mods i do to keep them EAC safe and if i remember right any dll mods will break EAC, good thinking though if it never comes may look into doing that alot of things id like to do seams to break EAC

SCore has powered workstations, but they might not work the way you want. They search for a power source within radius, and if that power source is turned on, so is the workstation. At least, that's my understanding.

SphreII's forum topic is here:

You can also reach him on Guppy's Discord. There's a room devoted to SCore.

From what I understand, the main challenge is that workstations and powered items have a huge amount of code in each class, they're in concrete classes, and they're not related; so you can't create any C# class that implements both.

What do you mean by fuel? Are you talking about the forge and campfire? Electric versions of those are incredibly inefficient compared to wood/coal. No one in an apocalyptic situation would make an electric forge unless they had absurd amounts of power reserves.
