Wich Mod Manager shoul i use?

Hi,

Until now, I have been using NexusMods' Vortex Mod Manager, as it makes updating easier.

Unfortunately, it no longer works and support on their forum has also been dead.

That's why I'm looking for an alternative.
Which one is current and still supported?

And which mod site is preferable?
Nexus = dead?
7daystodiemods.com = Bad User experience!

Nexus isn't dead. :)

Whatever you use, be aware that I believe Vortex is the one that changes your User Data Folder without your permission. That will mess up any other mod manager you choose if you aren't sure where to find your mods. Before using another mod manager, you should reset your User Data Folder (you can find the path in your logs if you need it) to the default location in AppData unless you want it somewhere else, like on a different drive. That isn't required, but I think you'll have a better experience if you do.

I can't give any suggestions for mod managers, though. I don't use them. I prefer doing things myself, though I also don't use hundreds of mods like some people. :D

I would say it depends.

If you are wanting to use an Overhaul I would recommend Sphereii's Mod Launcher.

If just wanting to use a collection of mods you choose I don't recommend using any mod managers, most mod authors won't support their mods if using them anyway.

However you could try the "Smorgasbord" it has a ton of mod selections and is a curated and updated list managed through a mod manager.

Vortex sucks big time however NexusMods itself is definitely not dead, it's usually the first place I update when I update my mods and some mods you can only find on NexusMods. And if you want to keep track of a bunch of mods updating just make your own collection.

As for 7daystodiemods it is improving under the new management and should get better still.

Vortex, 7dtd Plugin creats a non working subfolder, and randomly installs some mods into it. These mods cant be managed and are without function
Forum gives no reply at all and look at github 95% of all bugrepoorts have not a single reply/aknowledgement.
This is abssolutley dead

I tried Sphereii's Mod Launcher, not a fan, manual managing mods is more comfortable

Will give Smorgasbord a try

Thank you
