Why this release schedule?

I agree, this isn't the greatest move of them, I don't even like the streamer thing, just do a public release and people who want to watch others play can do so and those who just want to play or update their mods can do so as well, but it is what it is.

In what way would it change anything for you? If they don't do streamer weekend, they will still release experimental on Monday. It won't change anything for you. They are smart enough not to release it over the weekend. As was pointed out by a dev on the previous page, streamers find a lot of the major bugs so they can be fixed before everyone else gets experimental. This saves people having a lot of problems as soon as experimental is out. That's a good thing.

Also, based on what many mod authors have said over the years, most won't update their mods until stable because there can be changes during experimental that will break them again. Better to update at stable than to have to update it multiple times during experimental. So, again... it doesn't really affect anything.
