XBOX Why modified files, don't match

Everytime you update on PC first the on console it screws over the people on private servers on console. Because it says modified files, don't match. EVERY SINGLE TIME.

I am not part of TFP, so this is just a guess:

It is simply too expensive to make every experimental available on console as the console companies want a rather large sum for every single patch.

You probably need to find a console-friendly server who does stay away from experimentals and only updates to a new stable version once it has arrived for consoles. On managed server an update may be automatic and unavoidable, but on barebones servers the server owner can decide freely when to update.

Anyway, delays between stable versions on steam and console are the sole responsibility of the console companies who first check each version before releasing it (one of the reasons why each new version costs a lot of money on console)

Just to add on to what meganoth said, you have a choice of what server(s) to use when playing the game on a dedicated server. Not every server is going to update immediately. That's entirely up to the servers and TFP doesn't run the servers, so has no say in that. If your server updates immediately without waiting, then it may be time to look for a different server that is more console-friendly. Or rent your own that you can control.

TFP releases console versions at the same time as PC versions. They don't release PC first. TFP can't control when Microsoft or Sony make those available, however. Steam releases updates right away, but consoles take time. Microsoft is especially bad with making updates available for XBox (including XBox through PC), at one point taking about a week to make it available. That isn't something TFP can do much about. If they try to offset it by releasing console first, they'd still end up with PS available before XBox since Microsoft is so slow and you'd still have those problems. It wouldn't be worth it.
