PC Why is everything lead?

Feycat

Refugee
We're playing in Nav and living in the ranger station up 260 from Rekt, past the farm. We know there's iron under there and we've always found it there. In A18, we found 2 iron rocks, one right next to the house and one a bit west, and a couple chunks of iron on the surface under that.

But mining? The place is FULL of lead. So we started digging under a few other iron rocks (one right west of Trader Joel as an example) and once you get past the surface, the veins we're finding are lead.

What gives? Is this a Nav problem? Is anyone else seeing this?

It seems that lead is much more abundant than other resources. Coal seems to be the hardest to find. But this may also be because the surface markers look so similar to the boulders.

In theory, the burnt biome would be the best place to find coal and the snow biome would be the best place to find nitrate.

I'm on my second game with A18 with all default settings except I have loot re spawn off and mark air drops on. There was an iron node just a bit outside my first trader location. I am getting TONS of iron, coal, nitrate and lead from it. Ya just got to dig. I am on day 10 of the play through and already have more than I will use. Heck, I don't even need to make ammo right now because I loot so much. Exploring and looting is the way to go now.
