Why do the devs hate cheese builds in a single player open world game? Along with other play styles.

I don't get the idea about cheese bases, though. My brother used to build bases which exploited zombie pathing; they worked, but the only fun I had was the night when the zombies suddenly bashed through the wall of the school it was built on an attacked us from the inside.

Personally, I build bases which are epic to defend with lots of fallback points, like a big concrete castle. But it got to the point the zombies just couldn't beat us! We didn't even need the traps or the robots.

These infernal zombies will certainly bring back the fun and hopefully bring my castle crashing down and MAN(!) do I look forward to it.

My next base is going to be a bunker - a top-most concrete blister looking in four directions with an outer ring of double concrete bars. The bunker will extend underground right down to bedrock level and The Last Stand room. Will be epic!

This isn't strictly a single player game, for starters. Would be fun to see an official poll or data to see how the playerbase is split between sp/mp.

The most recent "cheese" that was fixed that I know of was zeds not breaking blocks/hatches above them while on a ladder. Anyone who's played the game before 2.0 knew they would break those if in their way, so for that to stop working was an obvious bug that needed to be fixed (which it was).

That said, it is frustrating when the perception we can get is how TFP folks are chasing down all the various ways people build bases and whatnot trying to "fix" them. Base design oughta totally transform when bandits become a thing, so...

No, it is a Co Op PvE game that you can play SP.
Its mainly single player. It has Co op but those arent official servers. If the people who run those servers dont want players using cheese bases they can have that in the rules and ban those players.

This would be a different argument from you if 7dtd had official servers supported by the fun pimps and said hey these are the changes we are making to multi player.

Like I said if you run a server and dont want folks using cheese builds feel free to ban those players, destroy their base or do whatever you want as a server administrator but saying to follow those same rules to folks who play single player is kinda ridiculous.
