PC Who is there no split screen co-op?

IDK if anyone else out there loved the fact that the original had split screen co-op but I'm missing it sorely. I hope they plan to add it back at some point.

 
There is no plan for it. The versions are equivalent across all platforms and since PC doesn’t have split screen neither does console. The console version is a direct port of the current PC version and not an update of the old version. 
 

In addition there is no possible way to fit it into the capabilities of the Xbox S series and performance would be extremely choppy on the X and the PS5 if even those platforms could handle it. 

Split screen would be fun and it’s sad that it can’t happen. But, the truth is, it can’t happen.
