Tough choice.

Not because I want both, but because I think that either would be a waste of development time/resources that could be more profitably spend on something else.

I suppose that given I don't mine, but I do swim across water if it's the easiest route to a town or tradewr, I'd find the addition of water dangers forcing me to build a raft annoying and intrusive whereas I could completely ignore whatever the underground stuff was.

So my vote is "for" underground, but it's actually a vote against water.

Both, water and underground, are boring and empty places. However, the volume of the landmass is much bigger than this of the water. For this reason, the correct answer is a): "An improved underground with caves, underground POI's, and threats."

I went with fleshing out the Underground.

Once thats got some more features working

we can finally hear the end of folks griping about other people playing underground,

and the forum can get back to being all friendly-like

speak for yourself i am stopping and will wait for the rest of you youngins to catch me. (i said youngins so that doesnt include the ones already there... 60 yrs). and i aint grumpy damnit :(

btw, my vote was for underground... it needs some lovin too.

Underground 100%

If the water is gonna stay basically worthless tweak the .xml's so there isnt large massive bodies of it. Make any large body of water spawn as a " swamp" so alligators and snakes can be added as threats. Small lakes you can see across with alot of small rivers/streams intertwined to use the boats.

Swampish POI's could also be added to spice up those areas.

I voted for water, just because I think there's more potential for interesting POI's in water than underground. Sunken ships, flooded cities (because of broken dams), etc. are all things that you'd likely find in a zombie apocalypse. You're not likely to find a lot of interesting (in terms of surviving the zombie apocalypse) things underground (other than right beneath the surface) because people don't generally build deep underground, and it's not like you're going to find a dwarven city full of dwarf zombies or something.

That said, the idea of a high fantasy zombie apocalypse game sounds pretty cool, and I wonder why nobody has made one (to the best of my knowledge.)

I vote for underground as it is a lot easier to play in, and build and modify. Having stuff at the bottom of lakes would be pretty easy I think and would add a lot to the game. I cannot see generating cars, boxes and other detrius to be hard.

I wasn't talking about you. You're already old and grumpy. :p

I voted water obviously, just because I wouldn't want them to change underground any time soon haha (bias confirmed).

Well, I reluctantly voted for Caves, because I'd really, REALLY, want both.

PS: Olivia Dunham (Anna Torv) - Aussie! As is Walter Bishop (John Noble)

Underground for me, unless your going to add some diving gear or something and fix it so we don't swim slower than we walk. That and there is generally much more land than water around.

Leather and plastics to make fins, plastics and glass to make a mask, again leather and plastics to make an air bladder / snorkel.

As it is right now, you almost have to plan on dying or near dying to make a stilt base on the lake bed, and then the same if you want to make a bridge out to your base so you don't have a slow swim for safety.

Huh. I thought it was going to be medieval, not medieval fantasy. Good to know. :)
Both actually, but we need to build a medieval fantasy first so we can have an option to remove the fantasy.
