Dude. Can you do me a favor and confirm or deny whether or not the progress bars in this form thread are a joke? The XP bar has had what seems like action. But the main health bar? That thing hasn't budged in months. At least not in any noticeable way. So... health bar just kidding? Or did someone actually doing any estimation on progress just give up on estimating?

I remember the health bar being at 2/3 once. And someone estimated the speed and got end of June or end of July.

Since you probably know how that health bar works you also will know that it really doesn't matter whether June or July is the correct one, with all the uncertainty involved in the health bar itself.

Yup bar is mostly for show I think. It is not a timer. It's not winding down at a regular pace. It's just a geusstimate. To be honest I don't even think TFP know themselves the exact date. The probably have a date in mind they would like to hit but they also probably know there will be snafus. The bar could be 2 inches from the end or 2 mm, when the time comes that A17x is released Roland will just fill in the bar.

The only time when an exact date of release for a software is known beforehand is when the developer or producer doesn't care in what state he releases that software.

I'm not trying to figure out a date here people. I'm trying to figure out a lifetime. I.E. if the health bar IS their progress and someone is doing estimation on the TFP side (screw those trying to decipher their own dates), then... we're all going to be dead before this is done... Ya see?

And am I really the only one who get's annoyed at a meaningless progress bar? I'm frankly starting to loathe that dang thing. Just remove the eyesore and the impression that some meaningful progress indicator is being provided.

No one likes a tease... Keep yer date to yourself, not asking for one. lol. Not even remotely. We're all mostly past that.

Once Alpha 17 releases, how long do you expect a new update that will force a world wipe be released?

I hate spending time in a base to then find out it's wiped because some update forced the server owner to restart :crushed:

It's pretty much every few days/weekly until stable version is released.

Didn't notice it before... That means only early alpha version of early alpha game will get out after health goes to 0.

I just dont feel so excited anymore. I didnt play this game for 6 months, been waiting for a17 and it seems like i wont play it at least until september (i dont want to play ''experimental'' of Early Access)

Some people really like the HP and XP bar. I think if I removed it at this point there would be a lot of confusion and anger. If you don't like playing underground then don't--- er --- I mean if you don't like the hp bar then just ignore it. I will tell you the truth about the bar. If you still want to believe in Santa Clause and magic then I urge you to not open the spoiler.

I remove one bit of the HP bar every week to week and a half. If there is still a bunch left when experimental hits the bar will get a critical hit and be done. If it looks like there will be delays I'll slow the HP bar to taking a hit once every two weeks. I really hope I won't have to add health to it. What does the bar actually represent? "It's done when it's done" and nothing more. It's not a joke but it also is not a timer based on an actual set date.

It is summer time for most countries, not just USA. But USA matter most because it sell most. This is what MadMole and team has to decide when they want to launch, to generate most revenue. As much as I hate people got centric to USA only sales, I must say it is technically right to focus if you absolute must, and for that focus USA is right place.

Also, I am from India and love someone give focus to my country rather than other countries.

I strongly believe their focus is on fun and creating a cool game more than generating the most revenue (thus pushing it out unfinished because summer would generate most revenue).

They've already stated that they have already made enough money from this game to finish it. At this point, they are trying to bring this game to a completed state so they can start on the next project. I think this is a big factor in the longer development cycles we're seeing now. Putting more into each patch means not having to release a bug tested and playeble product every few months, which in turn means getting the game out sooner.

I haven't seen it in either 3k or 4k so I wouldn't know, is it legit like as good as Far Cry 5 (I've seen video's on Youtube on a 4k TV) or is it substandard in comparison, I'm just trying to get a idea of what I'm going to see when my new GTX 1080 Ti gets delivered on Tuesday.

I don't have anything to compare it with. I have never played anything else in 4k or watched any game play trailers in 4k. But I know this game looks better in 4k than in 1080p.

Summer break is almost universal, at least for the northern hemisphere. Have to ask an Aussie when their break is. Probably say: "Always mate, Always".
